Hey Pom,

There's a bunch of guys on here that have done decal removal. I would recommend you PM GlenTC but alot of the guys here will help you.

Basically (Glen showed me how) you hit the decal generally with your missus' hairdryer (I wouldn't infer that you own one yourself Coolsmiley) and when you get a bit of heat, it should start lifting. Go slowly otherwise you'll screw it up. Don't get the decal too hot or it'll just fall apart. I've heard that warming the rear of the fairing can also help (rather than applying heat directly to the decal). There have been a number of recent reports that the 07 bikes (like mine) have a different glue compound that makes them a PITA to get off.

When you've got the decal off, you'll have a shedload of crap (glue) on the fairing. Get it off with something like "Oomph" from the supermarket, Eucalyptus oil or Tea Tree Oil. I found that using a soft but slightly coarse towel helped greatly because it gave the glue something else to stick to. Make sure you clean ALL the agents off the fairing before you try to apply any new stickers.

Hope this helps. No disrespect to Maj but I wouldn't use a credit card. Fingernails are the go.

Okay
I found the best way to go with this is a heat gun and an artists pallette knife. Tried the credit card and I got a new one coming next week as the old one melted. The knife is too blunt to gouge or scrape the plastic but has a good enough edge to pick up the decal. Pulling it off in strips is a bit of a non starter as it snaps real easy, only took an hour to do one side, saving the other side til tomorrow as I was losing the will to live scratching it off.
Thanks for the help and advice and I hope mine might help someone else.

That's a pity. Mine came of a little easier than that.
