Fitting & cleaning titanium pipe system
#1
Hi All,

I was just wondering firstly how most clean their titanium pipes??
I read some where that WD40 & 1200 grit sand paper worked nice?

Also I am guessing I am going to have to remove the rad to fit the new system, I wondered today how the bike will run till I can get it dyno'd for the new system?

Cheers in advance

I bought a yoshi stainless with a titanium can & they included a sort of scowering pad for cleaning.I didn't need to remove the radiator to fit mine & was ok, ditched all the par valve plumbing. Since been told i should have left it as it reduces crank case pressure at high speed.

I've been using Mother Alluminuim Polish on my titanium muffler for years.

I remove it from the bike and spend a fair ammount of time buffing out fine scratches and crud. I usually do this a couple of times a year. Just be carful on the Akro systems because you can and will wear out the sticker on the muffler...Embarassed

Hot spots front and back from a dyno tune.............Pi_thumbsup

Hope this helps?

Cheers, Phil.

Sure does :) thanks guys.

Going to fit up the system today/tomorrow & thought that I'd need to remove the rad for sure & wanted to give them a clean as well before putting them on :)

Cheers

nice to know I don't have to remove the radiator.

So what should I do with the pair valve??

Not having the pair valve seems to be not that uncommon. They sell block off plates on ebay . If it was a major problem there 'd be some feed back on here i'd say.

Each time i've done a mod ,tre , ditched the stock cans for yoshi one's, k&n filter, then full system, i've felt there was improvement. But i have to say when balls tuned it the difference was greater than at any other time.Saying that it was still plenty ridable before the tune.I've chopped my can in half since then & once again i feel it's given me more mid range.
