Do U guys think it's worth investing in radiator and oil cooler covers?
A company in Perth is measuring the K8 sometime this week and will have sets available ASAP.
Their sets for the 99-K7 is $125 which sems quite a bit less than a well known company over east! They look very good quality.
I note you have to take both fairings off so just wondering if people think theyr'e worth the effort in the long run? Cost is not the issue as I suspect a new radiator would be up around the $500 - $600 mark?

I have ridden my new 600 for only 700klms and the radiator is damaged already, then there is the chipped paint work on the tank that Im not happy about, ugh!!

A new radiator for the busa is over $1000. So a guard is probably a good investment.
Mind you, my 99 busa has never had one and it has never had a hole from road damage in over 110,000 klms.
The oil coolers on both Gen 1 and Gen 11 bikes have protectors already.

Mates brand new 07 GSX1000R copped a stone after about 200km. Needed new radiator which cost a little over $1000. So $150-$200 i reckon is a pretty good price for piece of mind. Another mates 06 GSX1000R copped a rock after about 800km ( he hasn't learnt yet though, still no guards)

Never put a guard on my gen1 and had no trouble in 60thou but have put one one my gen2. $20 pack of mesh from autobarn and cut to size and it sort of clips in behind the lip on either side of the radiator and holds there by tension, cause gave me enough to do the faring vents as well. $20 bargain

The mesh is available from any auto store i.e. supercheap auto etc for about 40 bucks and you can do the entire radiator and the mesh bling out of one sheet. About 4 hours job total.
I have done the bling but didnt do the radiator as I dont belive that a rock travelling at about 60/80 KMPH will NOT damage the radiator with the guard on.
Cheers,
Bill
