Canberra to the Bay and Back - Sunday 26 March 2006
#1
Hello All,

As the weather is supposed to be fine on the weekend I was thinking of having fish and chips for lunch at Batemans Bayon Sunday.

Anyone interested? As long as the ride doesn't turn into a race,...or you occasionally (sometimes) wait up for me.

Be a great familiarization ride for me but I'm putn the stand before the bike so to speak since I've yet to pick my bike up!! Unfortunately I want to get the first service done b4 I go anywhere as it's got 1100 kms up and have to wait for RAM Eng. to fit me in.

Just note of appreciation to the Canb chapter for making me feel welcome tonite @ the OCI I didn't even have a 'busa to show off just yet...tho I can see I'll be struggling to keep the $$ up to compete with the local bling brigade

Hi Dan,

I've sent an email to youngbusa. I found his proper email address. Also, one of the guys from my shift at work is coming on his CBR1000. So should be three, maybe four of us.

I've packed my camera.

Albury is about 3 1/2 to 4 hours. Probably closer to 4 depending on your speed.

Batemans Bay is about 1 1/2 hours ride. You can do it quicker but you may not have a licence when you get back. Edited by: Busdriver at: 25/3/06 9:25 pm

Well Guys and Gals,

What a lovely day. It started out like this:

As you can see there was plenty of room in the photo but no one but me and Dan were keen to be in it.

Then after a great ride down the Clyde Mountain into Batemans Bay it went like this:

Why is Dan smiling so much? Well we had a nice lunch and then this happened:

So you can all see it was a lovely day down the coast. What does Busdriver have to say about it?

AND, you all missed it. Including the dude in the WRX. He had to get out in the overtaking lanes and hold us up. After pushing him 3/4 of the way up the mountain he finally conceeded defeat and lets us through.

Next time the ride will be called "the No Excuses Ride"

Seriously, it was a TOP day. Hope you all enjoyed your day too.

PS. Who was on the Black and Purple Bus with the scantily clad pillion that blasted past us just before Doughboy Hill on the way down. Please use the other lane when overtaking that quickly. You scared the crap out of me that close and that fast. I am known to wander in my lane a bit. Edited by: Busdriver at: 26/3/06 5:10 pm
