OEM steering damper

Reading poor Nem's story about his tank slapper reminded me.....
Last weekend, while the rain was coming down, I decided to remove the steering damper and change the oil to 80w.
This is a pretty straight forward job which takes about 20-30 mins from start to finish and makes a world of difference.
The piston stroke on the damper was much smoother and the bike feels a lot better/more planted through rough/bumpy corners.

Now I'm not going to speculate on whether this mod will save you from a nasty tank slapper coming down from one wheel escapades, but it just might help a bit.....

Just thought i'd whack this one up for some of the newer members/Busa owners that may not have heard of this cheap and easy mod....

A lot have done the refill and its a worthwhile thing to do. Mine was not filled fully from the factory BTW. Make shure you have a Torx bit to unscrew the filling port before attempting.

Yeh my bike wasnt feeling right before
the accident,kinda hard to explain.
It was due cuz some poofta cut me off 4 days before hand
an to avoid a crash i went over like a
rounded median strip in the middle
of the road so the c*** wouldnt sideswipe me.
And as you can imagine 70 kays over one of them
felt like i turned the busa into a dirtbike episode.
She didnt feel the same after that,hard to explain...
Like she steered straight etc but yeh like i said..

An i was meant to stop past balls to get it checked but
i had an accident
So i will never know now if maybe it was something to
do with the bike,il still take the blame.

All i know is next busa of mine will get a aftermarket
damper straight away.ohlins i suppose.
Is there any better?

Dunno if better but GPR Stabilizer is another option.
