I am planning to attend the bike rally on the 28th of Jan in Canberra. Is anyone else from Melbourne wanting to join me? Are any of you Canberrans planning to go? If so drop me a line and we can catch up. I plan to ride home on Sunday 29th.
We need to show our numbers, now more than ever. Stand up and be counted..... Cheers,
Holge

Now you mention it, I went to the last one. It was SPECTACULAR!! I have never seen so many bikes in one place! The police closed the road for us to marshall, so there was two lanes of road, bikes parked diagonally down both sides and then nose to tail in four rows down the middle. We were packed in pretty tight, and the bikes went for MILES! I've never seen anything like it.
Count me in.
Why the f#*k is it in canberra again?
All those soft little pee wee pollies will still be on hollies anyway? Phuck its the phantom!
Sounds good, I'll be there.
Hey rocket jock - the Polies will see the news, and it's a nice central place to meet from all states - I went to the 1980 one - 15 to 20k bikers, excellent. The last one was grouse, the next even better.

What do Federal pollies care about motorcycling issues when the road regulations are all administered by individual State Transport Ministers & enforced by State Police
Haven't been booked for speeding by a Federal policeman yet
But a ride is a ride
Hey Max,what has canberra got going for it?????
Full of roundabouts and not much in the good roads department, and isnt the place closed after 6pm????
I guess theyre making it easy for the uylisses guys to get there.
Cheers,"your capital is very boring". Phuck its the phantom!
Rocket.... I spent some of my miss-spent youth in Canberra and I gotta tell you, you HAVE to be with a local. Everything is hidden in that joint. And if your not, then sure, it does seem like the place shuts down. But you can't tell me that with an influx of around 20000 bikers, the pubs won't be full of waries ('war-stories' for those that didn't to service time).
As for rides, the cotter loop is a top little run out past the southern side of town, past Tidbinbilla (prob. didn't spen that right). And then there is always the run to Batemans Bay over the Clyde mountain. That's good fun too.
I have not always been a huge advocate for the place (I did move to Mexico of my own free will), but it does have it's charms. Oh, did I mention porn and titty bars?
As for you Mr Myeyesightisfailling, come for a ride before you need a walking frame. And try to convince that other geriatric to make a weekend of it. We could go via the Snowys on the Friday and then back on the Sunday
I do agree that the federal pollies don't really care about the rally, but it will make the news and I think that it is a positive display of numbers. Cheers,
Holge

I've been to Canberra more times than anyone in here has had hot feeds, & I don't really see any urgent need to re aquaint myself with the joint
