Didn't have a bike to run so took the Golf GTI down. Just had launch control flashed in so was interested in how it went.
Only did 3 runs, and it clocked 14.4 within a few hundreths every time. That's with climate control and the radio going! LC works, but there's a hesitation which kills reaction times. Maybe if I practiced !!
Best was a .2 reaction, way too slow to compete for the prize money which was going to a 0.006 when I left (two of them actually).
Big field and started an hour earlier. Not too many bikes, maybe 20 tops. Think John's copper silver was the only one running under 10s and the only Busa.
It was pointed out by the PA that at least I should fall over with 4 wheels (don't you hate that?)
LC means you can hold anything up to around 3,000rpm with the DSG box, so on full boost. I found the first run without any wheelspin was the quickest, and that was around 2,000 on the launch. When I went higher I got a small spin, and a slightly lower time. Better give it back to the missus before I start tinkering with tyre pressures, boost, intercooler, ....maybe
