Howdy all.
I assume i had to re register for the new forum. My old name and password didnt work.
I remember some time ago (years actually) some discussion about AS1698 stickers. Some one around here was able to get them (ie to stick on the helmet im buying from OS that is less than 1/2 the price it is here.)
If anyone remembers that conversation, can they let me know? (by PM if you prefer, considering its probably illegal :eyes:)
Anyway, as a quick update, my 750 (with a super accurate speedo) has moved on and i have an '06 Husqvarna 610 motard.
Cheers

Suppose one was to build a full size diarhama of a street scene, cafe's, bikes, enthusiasts et al, out of papier mache for his private motorcycle museum and everything was on a scale of 1:1 and accurate down to the finest detail,... except one thing was missing...., the AS1698 sticker on the helmet hanging off the mirror of the subject motorcycle in the centre of the whole scene. Hypothetically, where would one turn to purchase said item to finish off this personal work of art, a web address is what I'm after and I believe that they're out there, a google search lead me to this very forum. Oh, rest assured there is no way I would ever think of using this item(s) for any other purpose, especially placing on a Momo vented helmet that would be ideal for the climate of Darwin, where I live...

LOL. Next round they'll be putting microchips in them during manufacture to keep some people in check.

Mad if you are gonna put on an import helmet - you have a stack, someone gets seriously hurt or killed, you are found to be using unsafe/non-std gear - enjoy your time inside and your guilt for the rest of your life; no thanks

i removed the 1698 sticker as it looked crap , it was on the back of the helmet , as soon as you remove them the sticker it leaves void- void -void impresssions all over it so it can't be reused.

It's like there is two layers, one that is adhesive and the other that is paint. Doesn't matter what you do - the paint will stay behind. And the absence of paint is what makes the sticker read "void".
Well that was my experience when I tried it on an old lid.
