1/. I think by law u must have a least 1 mirror on the right side. Don't know how big they should be but i've seen dentist's mirrors mounted on bikes......Don't know the penalty!
2/. I think there was a law passed which allowed NSW riders to park on pathways..... or was that VIC.
3/. Bikes can use 't' lanes (Transit lanes) and 'bus lanes' but not 'Bus only lanes'
4/. Tricky one, Iv'e shared lanes before and even passed a patrol car and patty wagon, nothing came of it , but i have heard of other bikes getting caught......
U play with fire u gonna get burned......
cheers.......Paul
Got pulled over by a bike cop for using a bicycle lane and i asked him if it would be ok to lane split and he said that as long as it was done safe there would be no problems.
Viking
I reckon we have a legitimate defence if caught riding in a 'BUS' only lane, let's see them fight that one.
I was in Melbourne last week and was absolutely astounded at the sight on so many bikes parked on the footpath. Would never do that in NSW.
But then, us northerners enjoy riding, not latteing!!!!!!!
Good call Sub, hehehehehe........
They must be the only road users out there that contribute nothing by way of registration etc who receive priviledges that far outweigh any contribution made & all the while thumbing their noses at road rules & safety as a whole
You've only got to watch those courier bicycle riders to arrive at that conclusion & we're not allowed in THIER lane :"> :"> :">
& what other sport enjoy's the luxury of government sanctioned "racing" on public highway's ? racing is racing
Ahh we still gotta hand it to Victoria for motorbike friendly state with parking on footpath, makes all the diff when it counts, I shudder at the thought if ever banned, gotta thank MRA for that.
What BUGS the shit outa me is the rego fee, $460 odd, single rider not 5, 2 wheels not 4, and now mostly garaged, car far too convenient, car rego $480 odd. IT DONT MAKE SENSE. Simply hgwy robbery, not to mention license fee. Dick Turpin would feel at home with local Govs, and all legal.
as far as I know, there's no such thing a legal lane splitting etc dammit (not yet once been nabbed though)
In Canb it is 3 points per car you pass lane slipping (unless the cars are TOTALLY stationary, but they can still get you). We thought this was a furfy until the cops turned up at the door of a mate and asked if he rode a GSX750 that had been lane slipping. Seems he'd done it past a cop.
bugger
I'll remember that next time I pass one H1, but until then I'm gonna take me chances.........yehahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.............rock' n' roll baby
As if there isnt enough things to book us for already, but remember its a free country
Quote:And what if they're really tiny Barbie Doll type mirrors?
maybe bigshow can answer this??
Quote:Like Victoria, can NSW riders park on the pavement?
no
Quote:Can bikes always use bus and 'T' lanes?
as mentioned earlies, we should be able to use "bus" lanes (and bus stops for that matter) but in Vic, I'm pretty sure the answer is a flat no.
Quote:Will NSW cops bother with safe traffic filtering, (lane sharing).
In Vic, I'm pretty sure they never bother.
Looks like both States are getting it HALF right.
I'm not sure myself...I'm still waiting on the brief, nothing like due process??
In Victoria it is LEGAL to lane split if the cars are STATIONARY WTFWT
... and if they are STATIONERY, is it legal to blow them away?
