check out the Nitro Busa trike that got posted a while back - it can be done. I also know a nutter up here in 'vegas that has recently added a bottle of NOS to his 'bus.

It's actually quite simple to install, (NOS is my specialty) and plan to install it in my busa.
My housemate has both his bikes set up with NOS. A ZX12 and a Bandit12, both put out more than 200bhp, the Bandit12 was featured in streetbike mag Dec 2001. I also have another mate with NOS on his ZX12 which puts out 240+ bhp. There is basically 2 types of Nitrous systems: 1.. Dry nitrous system (this only sprays nitrous on it's own, it's very easy to install for fuel injected motorcycles) and very cheap HP, around $1500 2.. Wet nitrous system (this must be used in conjuction with fuel being sprayed in the chamber at same time as nitrous) it's a little harder to install but you can get bigger HP shots. Nos Rob (my housemate) imports all the ingredients for NOS installation, I actually took the NOS Bandit12 to the GP last year, maybe you saw it. It's red and blue. If you have any Q's, drop me a line and i'll post you some info. P.S The blue and silver busa trike which had nitrous on it was'nt really installed. (he came into my work, and i checked the plumbing. He didn't even know what type of system he had???) Cheers....Paul

A few of us have met NOS Rob and his bandit, over at Ten Tenths with Col. Watched it come to temporary grief on the dyno...

Your absolutely right demeester, it did come to a bit of grief it was the clutch that let go....Unfortunately the NOS bandit12 is for sale ($10800 is the asking price)??
It has a 2 stage wet nitrous kit, 1st shot is 50bhp, 2nd is 35bhp. On the max you can go from 153bhp straight to 238bhp ( not for the weak hearted ) and it's one hell of a buzz. Value for money it's definatly the way to go. No engine mods required if you stay below a certain hp shot... Can't wait to fix mine up.......hehehehehehe

I just don't think I want that power. Call me chicken but I got a kid to raise. Anyone ever have any high speed wrecks? how about wheelies? I rode Harley's all my life until last summer and I will never go back to HD.

I've had a high speed off...wasn't pretty. But if I could afford NOS I'd get it, hell if I could afford a 550hp busa I'd get that .

Here, here Bigshow. (I like the cut of your jib!) I know someone else who would like it on their Busa. Maybe we can all get a package deal for 3 NOS kits. Giddy up!!!
Cheers, Phil. Quite right, "Life is not a spectator sport". And I have 3 little kids. (And plenty of life insurance)

Maybe we could rig up an electric supercharger like they do on cars GDY a lot cheaper & Al has one on his Vette !

Let me know how it goes when your finished Rev.
I still think I'll go with plan "B".

Nitrous isn't as bad as people think. People have the misconception that nitrous is a violent hit of massive HP, not so.
You can have shot of NOS as little as 20hp which might suit someone who just wants to pass a ZX12 and leave him wondering ...what the f*** was that... you can build a system tailored for what you want. 20hp-150hp the choice is yours. And if nothing else, the blue bottle strapped to your bike definitely has a f*** OFF factor...

It might be a stupid Q to some, and I'm pretty sure my thoughts are right, but NOS is not legal at all is it?
kamakazes mention of the blue bottle as a f*** off factor [which it would be] would certainly get you done pretty quickly [if you stopped]. Is NOS legal or not? It's probably the last thing a lot of us should be encouraged to think about but hey, if it doesn't need engine work like anything else, then sweet. -jon- PS might as well mod the bike to fit a NOS bottle while I'm off the road, just in case I get the urge. hehe

Nos is not legal if it's connected, but if you have the bottle hooked up under the seat no one knows you have it, and police can't seach the bike unless they have probable cause.
Never forget, the responsibility is up to you (if your gonna play with fire, your gonna get burned) You can have a bottle strapped to your bike in clear view and not get booked, but you must not have that braided line connecting the system. Once it's connected it's deemed an illegal modification...... No engine work is required if you stay within a certain safety margin.... e.g 40hp dry shot on top of a 185hp ZX12 no worries, we tried a 55hp shot and it lasted quite a while until he blew up his clutch basket. (now needs to be replaced with a billet one) hope this helps a little......................Paul |
