I understand your situation Rod, I've got the tyres and I can't afford to eat The diablo corsa is allegedly better than the super corsa (which is freakin unreal), but I'm unconvinced at this stage, although I haven't given it a real slapping yet...I'll let you guys know

The bigshow and I will find out tommorrow just how slow we are.....
Bold predictions: we will crack the 2min barrier.
and:
one of us will get the knee down (followed by the hip, elbow, shoulder, head, etc...)
Will let you all know tommorrow night.

Good day had by all... Very professionally run by champions ride days, great service. Small turnout (37 riders) on the wednesday too, which translated into more track time. My best (hand timed) lap was a 1.53...ffg was well under 2.00 also

ffg thinkin he could out brake bigshow into MG...(not likely sunshine )

probably my freakiest moment was locking up the front at 270 at the end of gardiner...I'll put that on my resume (ffg witnessed from about 10m behind , not sure who was more worried)

The Diablo Corsa is not a bad tyre, but I still think the Dragon Super Corsa is better for grip...
Anyone wanna buy a slightly used rear super corsa??

Glad to hear you had a good day Luc. Great pics again. Looks like the rear brake is together again. I see you've also shortened you wheelbase by a link. How many teeth on the rear sprocket? Thanks for the info on the rear tyres, good to keep in mind. Are you still running the Super Corsa on the front?
Cheers for now,Phil. (Riding, and never getting the knee down.)

Yep...it was a seriously awesome day!!!
Still buzzing about it now......
Wore through a set of knee sliders which suprise (and pleased) me no end....
As for my times, I have very little idea but suffice to say the 2 minute barrier was well and truly smashed
Turn 2, siberia, lukey heights, turn 11 (my nemisis) and inconsistently on turn 12 and the kink before honda were knee sliding nirvana. I will never forget that sound "sssccccrrraapppeeee" as you're cranked through a corner.
I am so stunned that one is capable of riding so goddamn fast. I could never, ever do this stuff on a public road.
At the first session, my impressions were how wide the track was. After getting in the groove (and getting much faster) it was breathtaking how narrow the track is. It was worth every single penny spent. And I cannot wait to do it again!!!!
As for bigshow I was attempting to line him up (attempting being the operative word) at the end of Gardner and sneak under brakes into turn 1. Then he did that lock up. I still don't know if he deliberately did it to spook me or just had brain fade. Either way, I won't be trying to take him under brakes any time soon
Mind you I think I scared the beejezus out of him when I highsided at 160+ exiting turn 11
I really wish I knew what my times were for that last session...Oh well next time. You guys really have to try this stuff at least once.
I now understand why a lot of the gixxer boys will only ride on the track and pass on the hard charging road rides.....
Oh yeah...huge raps on the 208GP and 207RR dunlops.

gdyup, yeah rear brake is back on to pass scrutineering, I may even have a thumb brake kit arriving in the next few weeks...
I have shortened the wheelbase, but not by removing a link. It's just a new chain and a 43 tooth sprocket (stock is 40). I have found the 43 tooth unreal, evens things up a bit for the bigger rider. Reasonably high up in the second gear rev range it will now lift on the power all the way up to balance point too .

re: tyres, I toasted the front dragon super corsa and replaced it with the newly released diablo corsa, which allegedly is better. Purely my opinion, I found the super corsa to be confidence with a capital P. Off the rim the diablo looks like it has a sharper profile, but from my road and track experience I don't think it steers as quick, the super corsa would just fall into a corner whereas the diablo tends to run wide / push / understeer on the exit. The only thing the diablo could have going for it is better wet grip, superior wear and it's about $20 cheaper...All I want is max grip at max lean in the dry = dragon super corsa .

Wear on the diablo was pretty good considering the slapping it received...

re: dunlops...
ffg, you're a great advertisement for them, their next ad campaign should go something like, "have you lived life on the highside lately..."

Thanks for all the info Luc. I had a 43 tooth sprocket fitted on my 99 Busa. It used to pull like a school boy. Took a while to stop hitting the rev limiter, it used to wind out so quick in the lower gears. Makes the speedo a bit optimistic though. Nothing a Sigma BC1400 push bike speedo won't fix though.
Love those pics, gotta check out your camera.
Cheers, Phil.

tend to agree about speedo optimism...as stated in another post it's optimistic in stock form. Obviously the 43 tooth makes it worse... a couple of times at the end of the straight I glanced an indicated 290, I might have passed (what seemed like) half a dozen ducatis down the straight but there's no way I was doin 290...

What's a push bike speedo worth these days Phil??

re: camera, it's a 4megapixel cannon powershot s40. Mad camera, retailed for $1600 but got it new on ebay direct from Japan for $1050 delivered .

The Sigma 1400 push bike speedo cost a whole $56. (What a bargain) Drop me a line if you want to fit one. (You can check mine out at close range) The standard speedo is so optimisic it's a joke. (I suppose some riders like to see the exagerated figures though, good for the pub talk and the ego) A 43 tooth sprocket makes it even worse, I remember the one I had on my 99 model. (Never again) I think I would prefer a 39 tooth now, remember I'm over 40.
As for the camera, holy shit I don't want a cheap one. (NOT) I think I'll get a $150 Kmart special and spend some more money making the Busa go faster.
Cheers, Phil. Riding, not talking.
