Never Another Flat Battery
#1
Here's a problem I encountered over the last 6 months, that possibly someone else may have had difficulties with. Hope this helps someone.

With an alarm fitted, If I didn't ride the Busa for about a week and a half, the battery would be drained past the point of cranking.

The biggest problem I found was that I also have a remote starting module on the 'Busa. I needed the charger to remain connected while the bike was started without damaging either the bike or the charger.

Apperently this can't be done. After much discussion/argueing with car battery charger salespeople (my electronics background was all for shit according to them), I found one in K-mart (of all places) that is working perfectly.

This model is designed to remain connected to the battery. It charges an almost flat battery and then switches to a "maintenence mode" which maintains a full charge. A red/green LED indicate the current charging mode.

The wiring leads into the boot with a plug, so now I also have a 12v power outlet for charging my phone.

For $45, I need never have to worry about a jump start again.
