Points sharing...another idea
#1
This is only good if you get pinged say at a red light camera or speed camera.

We organise a pool of people who have heaps of points and may be willing to act as a nominated rider (maybe for a fee of say $200 or something)

In other words say Jack gets pinged but will lose his license if he loses any more points, but Jill has heaps of points and is willing to say she was riding the bike and take the rap.
She loses 3 points, Jack pays her $200 and doesn't lose any points and keeps his license.

Have I got too much time on my hands?
Cheers,
Pete

Actually just adding to this idea,we used to have this system going that when you went riding with a group of guys and knew you were going to be hooting,we had this pact that whoever got pinged from the group would obviously wear the points, but the rest of the group chipped in for the fine.

The trouble with the point demerit system is that the Government actually shoots itself in the foot

We all know it's about revenue, why don't they keep it that way & forget the points ? Makes good sense coz
good milk cows would still be out there for the milking

Then she could ride with you on her new 125 or steppie
and you would never get any peace and quiet but i think it will slow you down a bit Cheers Robert

I have trouble understanding how you get 12 points and 3 years in which to use them. If you "use them all up" inside the 3 years you get a letter that sayes you are on probation for 12 months and have 3 points. . . Isn't that the same?

And then you get them all back if you're a good boy(or just plain lucky) at the end of the 12 month period????

What's the point?

The downside of sharing points is the effect it can have on your insurance excess and premium.

They tend to ask about traffic infringements when you take out a policy.

They also go for your driving history when you make a claim. ---------------------------------

I think he means 200 or 300 PER POINT
so if it was a fine of 4 points $1200? plus the fine $$$$ MMMMMMMM starting to add up for a big one me-thinks
