There's a good chance you could see him in South Australia in March.
Our salt is harder so potentially he could go faster here.

Unless there is a catastrophe between now and March , the Ack Attack streamliner 330+mph, John Noonan and his 260+ mph pit bike , Joe amo and his brother Jon and the worlds fastest 1000cc bike 245+ mph will be at Gairdner next March ,( containers on the way) there is also a possibility that Scott Guthrie will also be there with a couple of 250+ mph bussas as well ,
If you were thinking of going to check it out March 2006 is the year to do it Gary

Can you guys put up the details?
Dates, licence details, what to bring, etc I have been keen to try this for a while now, if I can fit it in I am a certainty. Is there a class for street rego'd bikes? Dave

A week on the salt , i saw a pic of Maj750t & hawkwind and a few others sitting around a table having a beer or 2 or 3 you all looked thrashed out and sunburnt from the harsh conditions. I would like to go ,Any good survival tips?
2006 sounds like a good year to be on the salt. I would like to get 60 minutes (tv show)more involved with the coverage of the guys on hayabusas in 2006. survival tips? More Beer.

I wil be in Perth for the Sunstate Nationals on the weekend of the 5-6, so I might miss the first day or two, but I think I will drop in on the way back.
Is there any problem with missing the first 2 days? So what will I have to do to get my Bus ready to go? Will I have to raise it up? Shorten it to stock lenght? What tyres do I need? Do they stirp down the bikes for scruitineering, or is it a once over thing? What do you do about the corrosion from the salt? Even if I don't run I will come for a look. Dave

Lardass , i was more than a little burned , too busy thinking about the bike and forgot sunscreen. good pic of a good evening at the cafe by the lake.
Cas ,however you present it your bike will fall into 1 class or another, if you want to be specific check the rules for the class you want to run in. Hardest thing to do on the salt is the safety wiring of axles and securing bolts, scrutineering is mostly for safety issues, Snell standard helmet is something else needed that can be a pain to find at short notice.

Does he velcro his chest to the tank, or what?
How long does he spend at that (or similar) speed? Is it just up to speed and down again, or does he reach 398km/h and slowly creep up? "sometimes, crime does pay" Employee of the Month Easyrider Imports www.easyriderimports.com.au

Lee Shierts going 260.2886 for Maxton new track record. 60 degree day with no wind.
Above is an extract from another site. Noonan went 259.8 something at Bonneville. Shierts did his run on a WW2 Airforce concrete runway. Its a 1mile drag..... then its braking hard. The bike is well put togther and apparently a daily driver.... apart from the ICE cooler!!!! |
