A message from the Motorcycle Council of NSW

Hi All,

You may have heard that the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter & Careflight Helicopter Service may be losing their contract with the NSW Government In the near future.

The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter, an Australian organisation has been around for 34 years and has played a huge part in saving over 34,000 lives.

Unfortunately the good work they do is now under threat, as from next year the NSW Government will be replacing the Sydney, Newcastle and Tamworth services with a foreign owned service from Canada that will COST TAXPAYERS TEN TO SIXTEEN TIMES MORE than it does currently.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could sign the petition at the site below to help save this organisation and support them in continuing to do the important and LIFE SAVING work that they do. It explains the situation they are in and what you can do to help. The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter relies on the support of the community to continue its service and now is when they need your support the most!

One day you may need help from one of these great organisations

Thank you in advance.

THIS SERVICE HAS LIFTED A LOT OR BIKE RIDERS AS WELL AS CAR DRIVERS FROM OUT ON THE BACK ROADS OF THIS STATE.

Hey Sentinal that address is correct but without the spaces.
(find below).
Although I have not needed their services personally, I have been involved at emergency incidents on a number of occassions that they were also called to. I have witnesssed their work first hand and only applaud their dedication and committment to care.
Everyone in NSW should sign this petition (as I just have) and keep what we have instead of givig away another ICON that we have come to know and love.
Regards, The Fireman.

Done and done... thanks for the opportunity to show my support in a meaningful and worthwhile way.

I hope Mr Iemma has his retirement plans sorted, he's going to need them I feel. The older I get, the better I was. Regards.... Rob

I agree with the sentiments everyone has about the good work done by HELICOPTER rescue services.
This new contract only affects the Sydney based helicopters.
The Newcastle and Tamworth ones are still wholly supported by the public and Westpac Bank. I don't know about any others in NSW.

This Sydney contract smells very suspicious.
I suspect the use of the airport where they are based may be the underlying factor in this contract.

It wouldn't surprise me if that bloody Macquarie bank that owns the airport is up to it's eyeballs in this - they are the biggest thieves going around.

Lets all get on board and save the rescue services neck as we may need them to save one of ours some day.

Very good cause to support and our politicians should hang their heads in shame. Cheers Taub

Done and also sent the link on to everyone in my address book,

My dad had a ride in one of these a few years back and he was really really pissed that he was out to it, so he didn't get to enjoy the ride.

They do a fantastic job.

Cheers Dee
