not sure about parking in the cbd. I do and haven't been fined yet, but that's probably just luck knowing bracks' police state. I think some mobile speed cameras are run by private citizens. not sure on the details but I think it was sub contracted out or something else equally foolish. Dj where are you on this one???

yes it is legal to park your bike on footpath goverment tried to stop but with lot of protest by bike groups saying that they would organise a mass protest and have as many bikes as posible to arrive in city early and take up one meter spot per bike and have other bikes ready to take there spot after there time was up on meter goverment relised bikes are better off on footpath as long as you park your bike out of way to one side so if you pulled up and just parked in midle of footpath sideways you could end up with ticket.

to the cameras i think what you have heard is that the mobile photo camaras are sub contracted out to public so police are not tied up with them i am not sure of the company name with the contract who then enploy people but it looks like they will be loosing it with all there mistakes hope this helps.
