Father and son showing off their bits in a thread called "Swingers Club".
My immediate sense of disappointment has given way to an over-riding sense of .... well.... deeper disappointment. The older I get, the better I was. Regards.... Rob

Glenn
What are the benifits of the two types of swingarms?? Cheers Taub

These arms are lighter, stronger and better looking. For the time and money you spend on polishing a standard arm then having it chromed(not always successfully, and adding weight and brittleness) they are an alternative that i thought is worthwhile.I noticed a firmer feel in the rear of the bike straight away,so possibly for rear tyre feedback on a track day i found them very good. They are top grade alloy so they stay shiny and are easy to keep that way.The company will do extended arms and top and bottom braced as well.the mega top brace is going to have less flex than the standard brace. Some flex is good for progressive tyre breakaway, too stiff makes it less forgiving. The stock arm isn,t bad,it just didn,t suit the look i was after.Sorry to dissapoint you astro but i did put it in the vendors section to avoid any problems.Perhaps you thought their was a cover charge??

Glen if you can sell me one for the price I paid for mine chromed and shipped from the USA I'll buy one !!!

I know i,m walking into a trap here but what was your cost for the a chromed arm shipped?I,m guessing alot less than a jmc arm.I know a few guys have ground down there own and had them chromed with mixed results due to the silica content of the alloy not easily allowing the chrome to take.Like i said my priorities were for performance first and looks second. If bling was the only reason chroming the arm and the frame would be easier to maintain than polished.

Just wondering how do you know its stronger than a stock arm?
What is the silicon content of the stock arm that causes chroming issues?

Something I was just wondering.... don't rear tyre feed back depend more on your rear shocker/spring setup? (Just wanting to learn) "Busa riders always count in three's.... 100, 200, 300"

will my busa go faster with this swing arm?
04-12-2006, 04:42pm
I,ll jump first. My swingarm was ex stock and was discounted. It cost me $1480.No easyrider discounts or anything.Landed here they normally sell for $1650.00 depending on what speck you want and how long you,re prepared to wait for polishing etc.Now on a price comparison with chromed(insert price here), its like galespeeds to chromed stockies.Performance bling or just bling. Will it go faster??With less unsprung weight on the rear tyre it,ll grip better, perhaps on a track day when you're already pushing the boundaries.

Like many aftermarket bits, if you need to buy a new swingarm and they are cheaper than the stock OEM, then they probably are a good buy.
I've seen Ray's close up and it looks good. Rgds BUSGO "TAKE MY ADVICE" I'm not using it anyway!
