how much increase?
I have been with Arista Over 40s for a few years and have never had to claim. I paid $598 incl GST last year for $12,500 agreed value.
My bike was knocked over a couple of years ago and they said they would fix it if the offender's insurance didn't pay, but they did. So all was cool.

I'm not using it anyway!
shannons increase its rates by 90%
mind you i went from rating 1 to rating 3 due to sidestand giving way.
after being insured with shannons for 5 years they decided to increase my ins. by $255 this is with an agreed value 2500 more than last busa. quoted $911 ,rang QBE
whoops ,hit thewrong key. QBE bettered shannons quote by $100,rang arista they quoted $613.01 for $21250 agreed value policy. their getting my money this time.I have found it pays to shop around every year when renewing ins.
Same as you Paul - had shannons and they increased from $670 to $915 for no forseeable reason, Arista $676 has a few less benefits but for $300 bucks i can live with it.

My insurance went down with shannons. With a new bike no less....
Has anyone elses premiums gone down? There just seems to be alot of people saying they have gone up and a rediculous amount at that..
I dumped Arista last year because of there price hikes, 4 years I was with them and no claims, but it kept going up, swaped over to shannons with about $4g extra cover and it was a bit cheaper, if they keep going up I'll just go 3rd party
Cheers Robert

I changed from Arista last year as they were a couple of hundred dearer than QBE and they changed their underwriter to a firm I had never heard of. QBE on the other hand paid out within 3 weeks when I wrote the Black and Silver off in 2004.
I am obliged to reinsure the black and grey on Monday. QBE agreed value this year was $25k for $996. The re insure notice says the agreed value is now $22k and the cost is $961.
I'm going to ring them Monday and push the insured amount back passed $25k as I am still spending money on her, ask Ray and Glenno! and see where we go from there. I'll be calling Arista as well to get a price from them. It never hurts to play them off against each other!

These insurance guys are amazing.
I have a quote for the $25k insurance from QBE = $1055.
I rang Arista and ended up speaking to a sheila with the worst attitude and flatest monotone voice in the world - "xcuse me is there any life on the plaet you come from woman?" Just about o unload on her and she said the magic figures - $658.38, full cover for 12 months.
At that stage she could have been the Ripper and I'd have excused her for voicing such low figures at me. I had to get a valuation and flick it to them before they'd do it though.
Rang QBE and invited a responce while questioning why they were ripping me off for 400 schmackerrosters? Immediate response after looking at my file - match that for you Mr Max. Done!
Rang Action and was told Swann draws the line on Bling attachments at $3k - cheap or what!
QBE wins the bike insurance war for another year at my place. Wonder if they'll insure my car as well?

I don't need insurance. My bike never goes anywhere...........well lately anyway.
But as soon as I cancel it some one will knock it over in the garage while I'm away.
