Your favourite whisky...
#1
I've been drinking whiskies for years (Scotch, Irish, Canadian, American, etc...) and I'm still not convinced I've found the best one for "sipping"

So I'm throwing this open to the club for some comment?!

What's your favourite whisky and why?

blue label or cragganmore. I prefer the cragganmore as it is the smoothest single malt I have ever tried. Blue label is a nice blend but I can't afford it for anything other than very special occasions.

In saying that, anything from the speyside region is tip-top. Don't ride behind me, I might bin it, Don't ride in front of me ya slow moving bastard, Just ride beside me and shut the f*** up.

Laphroaig Single Malt Scotch 10 Year

It's a beautiful malt whiskie with smoke and peat flavours. The aging whisky is stored in a warehouse on the sea, where the wood breathes in the briny sea-mist, air of salt and seaweed.

I see you like Islay scotches Taub. The maturing house you are talking about also contains the Queens Barrel. It is so old that half of the barrell has evaporated through the wood. Aside from the brewers etc, only the queen or king are permitted to drink it.

I would love to get my hands on some of that!!! Don't ride behind me, I might bin it, Don't ride in front of me ya slow moving bastard, Just ride beside me and shut the f*** up.

If you take your favourite whisky or any spirit for that matter and put the bottle in the freezer - the liquid doesn't freeze but it makes it go thick and syrup like with a more intense flavour which can be used in lots of interesting ways such as Ice cream topping (Sambucca) or Slippery nipples (Baileys)

Have fun - Ruffy

from wikipedia:

Laphroaig (pronounced "la-FROYG") is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery situated on the island of Islay off the West coast of Scotland.

Laphroaig is an acquired taste, even among whisky drinkers. Its strong phenolic and peaty overtones have been likened to "bottled smoke", seaweed or even TCP or Chloraseptic. However, those who like it are likely to consider it to be a favourite. Only Ardbeg has even stronger peaty taste.

I tried a bottle of Bowmore 12 year old last night - talk about smoke in a bottle! But NICE!
