I spose that depends on if you are speaking as a straw man or free man.
I ask the reason my lawful travel of public roads is being halted. By law you do have to state your name if asked by a policy enforcer, I e police as the policy of the corperation we live in, I.e Australia corp, deems it so. The idea one needs a licence to enjoy ones private conveyance is another thing, but if ones conveyance has been registered (given to the crown, ie head of the corporation, reg meaning crown or king), you have in effect handed that particular freedom over and must comply with the policy of said corporation ie the motor traffic act. How soon you are on your way would depend on if you have breeched policy (road rules) or not. Keep in mind you have agreed to abide by the corporation of Australias policies by begging for (submitting and applying ) a licence and registration.

unfortunately under each State Law you must hve a registered licence and have a registered AND insured to use the roads they PROVIDE.
There is no COMMON land, it's all owned by originally the Crown and since 1901 The Commonwealth of Australia. While State have jurisdiction you can apply to the Commonwealth to override that in certain instances... mining come to mind LOL If you are utilising the Public road system then the State has jurisdiction over how you need to use that piece of land. Not court in Australia would rule otherwise

BTW... that bit of land you think you own and built your house on is NOT yours.... all you did was purchase the right to use that land how THEY deem fit until you decide to sell it OR they decide they want it back.

Common Law is a bit different to the Road Transport Act in NSW. Here you must produce licence, supply details of anyone who was riding your bike if a traffic offence oocurs. My poor mum borrowed the Busa to play bingo at our LOCAL RSL and was caught by a speed camera twice at 60km/h over the limit. I honestly don't know what got into her, anyway the fine came in the mail and she had to pay dearly for it. Now catching buses she is, I can't remember what I was doing when she got done, I think I was up in Queensland.

You have the right to travel anywhere you want how you want, as long as you are not using gov paid roads on Commonwealth land or trespassing.
Australia was a free country before The Empire landed. Since then, having learned from mistakes they did in the Americas, everything has been owned and controlled by the Crown and now the Federal Gov. And seeing everyone hates the idea of Socialism you must want Capitalism.. And that means USER PAYS lol

I've studied, I've learnt, I know right from wrong... For now anyway. If you get pulled over by Australia's law enforcement, here's a tip, use manners and good will. We love that! It's a shame so many people out there are too busy pointing fingers at those who enforce law, and not at themselves for breaking said law. We did not make the law, we just enforce what is written.
So you vehicle must be registered, you must have ctpi cover, you must be licensed, and when we ask for it, please provide it. If you have manners and show respect, we will do the same, if you go straight on the defensive we will think "what's up with this guy?"' If you go straight on the attack, we will find something wrong and advise you of it. It's all about give and take...

I agree with user pay, but did the Goverenment pay anything for the land? did the Gov. pay to build the roads out of there own hard earned money or did they use our money? and they expext us to keep paying for the.priveliage? am i missing something?
