I might have a bit of oil in the back of my shed from 2005. Is that close enough?

As you can see this is a q that always brings joy.
In answer to your Q use the oil speced in the manual which is 10w40. I also wrote a thread "ramblings on Oils" which is my understanding of the oil debate which you may find interesting.
