V-Max

Back on Chrome.

Had a squirt on the new V-Max the other day, 30 minutes and must say I loved the power. Bike I rode had spent the day at the drags so no comment on the handling as the tyre was past it. Rooted.

Won't be trading the 'Busa in anytime soon but the power and torque brought a big big smile, holy shit !!

Yes they are a Bad Ass bike, our Yam shop has one with a 240 tire kit on it, they have bucket loads of power. If I was making more money I would buy one..

3 ones here the other weekend on a ride. Didn't get to see how they went on the straights, looked awesome, they also had large rears, handled like cruisers through the corners -very slow and careful.

OK if they fit your wants and needs.
They don't fit mine!

Up against a 109, V-Rod, Rocket 111, Ducati Dribble etc they are fine.
Motors are sweet but the wheelbase, tyre size, weight etc is all a step
in the wrong direction for me.

Each to their own.

A friend i ride with has one of the new ones and basicly they are a drag or cruise bike because thats about all they are good for, plenty of power but no lean angle so in the hills they not much, they got the power coming out of corners but by then your've gone past it. This freind has had it ported and polished quickshifter fitted german aftermarket exhaustd 4 into 2 had the ECU flashed and still my B-King is quicker off the mark so for 33gran in N.Z. you need to love the VMax, thats a brand new Busa and a 2nd hand B-King.
SPEED ISN,T EVERYTHING BUT IT SURE IS FUN.

If I remember back when they first came out werent they touted
as the street drag bike?
So I wouldnt expect them to corner super fast!

And they would have to have being the first of the true naked's!
Her job is to Bitch!

Evidently Tony picked it up at a fire-sale online , paid about NZ14k for it, I'd buy it at that price too . He still has his has old Gen 1 V-max in the shed in bits, he's never had a squirt on a 'Busa though.

Guess it works both ways

Got one parked in the shed next to The Short Bus.

Not everyone's style of bike but in the right hands, they'll show a clean pair of heels to an average rider on a sports bike.

As would most bikes.

The rider is still the biggest part of the equation.

Hi Guys,

I Have owned and tried many Bikes mostly Suzuki's , M109R, GSXR'S 750, 1000, 1300,, at the moment I have in the Garage Track Bike GSXR1000, Work commuting Bike BMW R1200RT, Ive never had a V-MAX,
Guys Ive traded in my blue busa with tears in my eyes, I was very close to put the busa back on the trailer, but the other half did say that too many toys in the garage and should choose.
Yes I have done it the busa is gone and bought V-MAX, my busa was traded in at BRISANS new castle top machine if any body buys it.
I ve always wanted a V-Max and that will stay in the garage for a long time. When the Gen 3 busa comes out I will update then.
I hope the members don't get upset for still staying in the club.
Here are some photos of the New Monster.

[Thread Hijack]

That raises an interesting discussion point. What would people really like to see in a Gen III Hayabusa?

Its not really a question that sits easily as a poll because it should be as wide a wish list as possible.

The only people likely to say more power or more speed are those that probably haven't ridden one even close to its full capabilities (on the road) in the real world.

So what is your Gen III wish list?

I'll start with an Ohlins rear shock as standard..........

Would love to see a 1507cc. I rode a gen 1 with a 1507 a few years back and its an experience i'll never forget. A 1340 in my current gen 2 just doesn't do it for me anymoreScary
