Can you please advise me on what tyres work on a Busa that have worked for you. I want to give my soon to be found Bus a trackday at PI, so I'm cutting to the chase and am seeking your experienced advice. I'll go with road tyres not slicks so I can determine what the big Bus needs in the handling department. The tyres selected will be used on the road for the occasional run down to the shop

longevity - michy road - good wet/good grip/looooong life.
for me - DunlopQ2s (55profile rear) - just passable wet/awesome grip/brilliant feedback/shit life - totally happy - but mine isn't a commuter, just a toy these days.

I've had Bridgestones for about 8 years and love them. Recently went to Pirrelli and love them too.
Use any tyre on the track (PI), as long as it's not strictly a touring tyre, and you'll be fine on the Busa.

i just bought a set of michelin pures,ive been running pireli and brigdstone,so lets see how the pures go to radelaide,and back

I tried a set. At 40psi they squirm all over the road, skatey and feel dreadful. But at 34psi they feel really great, planted with awesome grip.
BUT . . . wore the edges out super quick, failed scruteneering at track day and had to replace way before the middle was even half gone.
A trip to Adelaide will only use the middle, so shouldn't be a problem

i only put 34 psi in my tyres i only bought them for the ride so if there knackered after il fit my old ones,lol

Ward, Not sure if you know but the new Dunlop Sportmax D211 GP are now available. I got myself a set (picking them in December at the ride day) of hard rear and medium front. For sure they will last even less than Q2s

Newish set of Pirelli Angels...never felt loose or slippery.

I'm not exactly a Newbie to motorcycles mate but know bugger all about Busa's. The right tyre is like asking "how long is the proverbial piece of string" Riding styles track conditions, temperature, pressures, suspension settings, blah blah eg re Michie3 's, We took the Roadies to the Vic Alp region for a week and after 3.500k's and was lucky to make it home.
Anyhow my nose is to the ground for a Gen 2 and hopefully the Piperjon Bus works out.

Hey mate, what worked for me was the Michelin 2CT dual compound. Awesome tyre - the best I have used on the BUSA, but don't expect good grip in the wet, in the dry though the best I have used. For such a performance tyre I still got 8000kms from the rear and bit more on the front...
