Sorry to hear Rod. Unfortunately we share the world with self centred, cold hearted people whose only focus in life is take take take regardless of the impact it has on others. Hope everything works out for goodPi_thumbsup

I can teach you a thing or two about data security if you like.
I would start by using Linux if I were you. Xubuntu is very easy to use and can run alongside windows for emergencies.

Hey Rod, most banks have fraud protection for this. Check with your bank as they can stop the payment.

And even more with your passwords. If you must store them somwhere on your computer use the Keypass program to protect them. And do not use the easy to guess ones like "Busa" or something or even worse the same password for multiple log-ins. Sorry to hear Rod, you will get you money back from the bank but still some scum deserved a lead pill.

Just to add my two cents worth of hindsight to this. I opened upa visa debit account and linked it to my paypal. That way it stays all but empty, then when I need paypal I transfer cash into the account. That being said I if some internet thieving arsehole really wants your stuff the will find a way.
What country did the money go to?

They do compensate for unauthorised access, but the trouble is was it their fault?

Did you only use your computer to log in? Do you save passwords? Do you clear your browser's private data (cookies, form history, flash history, browsing history, passwords) on exit? Do you have your password written or stored anywhere (even in email)? Do you use a smartphone to access those services? Did you have any friends or family assess your phone or computer? Or even be sure that someone else didn't use them? If you're using Windows, do you have a virus scanner, is it active, is it up to date? Do you have a firewall running, is it configured?

This is the tip of the iceberg. The above precautions would eliminate the bulk of security flaws. If someone really wanted to take advantage of you, there's always a way to do it, but it doesn't mean basic precautions shouldn't be in place.

BTW, this isn't a stab at you Rod, I'm just saying this sort of thing happens all the time because covering every hole in your system is a difficult task for someone who hasn't spent a long time working on it.

If you want a quick solution that doesn't require hard work, install TOR bundle. This provides exceptional anonymity for those that have no f***ing idea:

A new AHC Bank account has been set up and i dont think i will be linking it to paypal there is not that much call for it , I think a few dollars that passed through paypal would have been safer as cash in the post
