Hi all, Just did the clutch basket pedestal bolts and retaining bolts on my k8. 1 pedastal bolt and 1 retaining bolt came loose. All the rest were ready to cause dramas. 30 000 ks on mine and regardless of the year model or mileage they are still covered under warranty. Dealer supplied the gasket, I did the job. Used high strength thread locker on the pedestals and nut locker on the retaining bolts. Simply do 3 opposing bolts. Then do the other 3. Dismantle any of the pedestal/retaining bolt assemblies should they come undone as a unit. No need to dump the oil,just have bike on side stand and in 1st gear to do the job. Gasket was still good to go. I have stored the new one in case of future problems. Simple job. As soon as you hear the rattle, do the job. Paul.
