Shame that "The ute driver, a 31-year-old female, and her male passenger were also treated for minor injuries" didn't actually read:
"When Police arrived, the ute driver, a 31-year-old female, and her male passenger were found suspended by piano wire from adjacent trees".

Knew the guy well. I'd see him on my way to work in the morning and have a yack at traffic lights, as bikers do... Happy-go-lucky bloke that worked in Kogarah bike shop.
RIP

I can't picture the road, but if it's a straight section of tar, how did they not see each other????

Mate, you can only see things on the road if you pay attention to what is going on. There are more and more f*&^ing zombies driving around doing anything but - mobiles, i-pods or make-up kits..

I don't know the full story to this unfortunate situation just yet, so I just wanna extend on what some have already said.....
RIP to our two fallen riders that have passed over to the next realm and sincerest condolences to your families & friends....and commisserations to everyone else involved in this tragedy....

Disobeying road rules, reckless driving ocassioning in a death - that's a prison sentence. If it was my mate, I'd be going for nothing less. Watch a vaguely skilled lawyer get them off anything other than a road ban.
Carpe Diem!

I always think of the decision that a single person can make in a split second that can ruin and end so many lives. Such a sad thing to happen.
