FUEL INJECTION WARNING LIGHT GEN2
#1
Hope someone has advise, just bought an 08 with 4600kms on clock has a 4 into 1 yoshi, stock air filter, i dont know really any more about history of bike

the red F1 warning light comes on in the tacho display about 5 minutes into riding and stays lit then the F1 symbol comes on and flashes in the centre display near the odometer

manual says this is a problem and should be looked at but hope someone has an easy fix or can advise further

bit worried as got it for a great price and i just want to ride it but manual says to continue riding can damage engine, bike feels same to ride prior and after lights show

Near the Yosh Plug right hand side battery area you will find the "dealer Plug" It's a white six pin plug with a rubber cap over it. You will see it has a clip that locks it to its female part (if it was there) Looking into the plug end with the clip on the top side jump the two terminals on the right side of the plug and turn ignition on and a fault code number will come up on dash. Tell us the code number ?
If the code goes when you turn key off then you may have to do this once light is lit to get error code number. If this doesn't work you will need to connect to an SDS unit and it will be able to read the past and present codes stored in ECU

I think there the red/white wire and black white wire to be bridged if you want to be sure which right side ;)

Maj is certianly correct and an even easier way on looking is they are the only two wires in the plug that are directly above and below each other Pi_thumbsup

Maj was giving you the colours of the wires to identify them. White with red tracer and a black with white tracer. Simply join the two wires in the six pin plug that are directly over each other together.

Do you have a power commander fitted to the bike, if so, the F1 light will come on when you select mode a b or c. It overrides your fuel injection, dont select any mode and light should not come on. Power commander and bike computer clash with tune up.
Hope this helps

You will have to hook and SDS unit to it and retrieve stored codes. It will tell you date and time it faulted and also all parameters at the time of faulting

I think you may have a problem there Milena a PC doesn't overide your ECU it just bends the signal .............. Knuppel2
