DRAG RACE ELIMINATION ROUNDS
#1
Aye aye,

one thing that caught out a few riders competing for the first time was missing their call up to the staging lanes.

This is especially important when eliminations start and the time between each round shortens each time.
Also it stops the chance of your bracket being missed altogether as nearly happened in Sports Bike. At the pointy end of the day things get hectic for officials and mistakes can easily be made.

A rough rule is that once eliminations are in full swing - get up to the staging lanes as soon as you are ready. Unless you are Group 1 - officials do not have the time (or the inclination) to come and find you. As I was officiating at Bikefest I realised what was going on and was able to INCREASE the number of call ups to what you usually get, and even call names and race numbers when I knew who was missing. - Still some missed it and got the shits. It's your job to know what your bracket is and when you are supposed to be racing.

PLEASE CUT/PASTE AND SEND OUT THIS TO ALL The NO-BAR movement grows - VIVA LA REVOLUTZIONE!!!!

As being the one that nearly missed out on the Final that I raced all day to compete in, I was shocked at not being called to race!!!

It was my first time at Bikefest and I had been called up all day to race in my Class!!

Both Simmo and I were hanging out together because we Knew we had to race each other and didnt expect a failure in communication from officials in especially a final!!!
Anyway I am so pleased I got to race and know, now not to rely on the call up (that didnt actually happen) and will be questioning the runs every single time!!!!

I think they may have missed us because we got rid of the entire opposition one race to early (thats because the Busa's are so good that is the Copper & Blue one's)
Cheers Robert
