Thanks to the Sydney gang for showing me such a good time. Specially to Bruce for putting me up, and Shane for putting up with me. Pan needs a special mention even though he did do the dance when he finally beat a girl. It was wildly exciting to be at the base of the track to watch Simmo and Andy battle it out in the final and I am impressed with Dave's spannering, but you are NEVER touching my bike buddy!

Despite me being CRAP, everyone was really nice. If ever you get a chance, ask Bruce for some pointers, he is a great teacher.

Thanks to all, and I fell asleep on the barstool because I'd been at it for DAYS at that stage! OBVIOUSLY I will have to do more things in the shed, everything else gets REPORTED!

P.S. When's the next one?

It was great to meet you Heidi, and thanks for coming out for a go at the drags.

The next event on will be COMPAK ATTAK on the 21st of May, this will be the same set up that we had at Bikefest, except the class that Andy won will now be dial your own to make it fairer to every body.

What do you mean I cant work on your bike??? I have allready ordered the new tail lights for your bike.

So Cas

So are you saying the 10.5 limit was not fair to everyone ???

The people that entered that class knew their limits!!

Please explain as I found it very hard to compete in and I dont think I was Favoured at all , and if I had a choice to dial in it would have been about 10.5 as in 48 runs I have got 10.4 now 4 times and the rest were above 10.5.

I followed the rules and as I said it was very difficult to achieve victory, I was trying my guts out and all the politics of dragging sometimes is annoying!!!

Andy,

I think Cas means it will make it fairer for the slower bikes.

If you run 10.5 or 10.4 all the time then you wont find it any harder than before.

For a bike that runs 12 sec to race you heads up that would be unfair to the slower bike.

So the slower bike will get a 1.5 sec head start against you.

This makes it fair by giving everyone a chance of winning, not just the fastest in the group.

I suppose I've really confused the issue here!

Lovely meeting you too Heidi.
I must tell you that Simmo is a liar though.
All the things he said about you aren't true at all.

Look forward to catching up again...

Andy, what Leonard said.
We ended up with 4 classes at Bikefest because anyone who was slower than 11.0 had no chance of getting into the finals in 10.5 Sports bike.
The promoters want 3 classes and this is the fairest way for all the competitors to compete.
Dont forget, come September it will be 10.0, so you will be going head to head with Bruce and Terry who would be running bang on 10.0 all day, would that be fair to you being beaten by 4 tenths every race.

Bruce, yes you were right. Edited by: CAS3234 at: 19/4/06 8:07 am

If its 10 then bring it on

Piece of I will have to step it up a notch!!!

As far as running 10.5's all day I went in Freaky Friday and ran 1 x 11 sec pass, and all my other runs were in the high 10's and 2 x 10.4's. I was just good on the day at Bikefest and Consistent!!!

I am going out to the creek today with the firm intention of getting up the poor ANDRA guys nose

Whats a Sprots bike??????

Just remember I didnt make the rules , you guys did!!!

I just followed them the best I could!!!!!!

Andy, you were great. Not taking anything away from your VICTORY.

Cass, when you are in Canberra for work, the offer of a beer and accomodation stands. I don't have the staying power of Bruce, but I'll do my best.

Bruce, you were right.

I can't understand how in our class how we could not dial our times like everyone else, I also wanted 10..5 but we got in anyway and the R1 I raced in the final wanted it also because he runs 10.5 to 10.6 thats why he also picked that class, the only thing I was worried about was just braking out a bit.
