I've just found out through the RATS forum that one of our members "Rhino" crashed on the old Rd on the weekend & is in RNS with spinal injuries. I'm not sure of how serious the injuries are, but if anyone knows him or his family and can update us it would be appreciated.
Please pass-on our wishes to him for a speedy recovery.

Scary stuff, that where I came off back in 2000, heard quite a few bones making some nasty noises on impact , was fully suited up. Walked away with a bad back with fixed itself up. Hope for the best , never good to hear.

Thanks for all the well wishes
Yep, that was me guys...I highsided into the armco on OPH.
I haven't had the pleasure of meeting any of you fine folk but thanks for all the well wishes, it means a lot.
Back at home after 9 days at RNSH. 1 broken vertebre, 2 fractured vertebre, 3 broken ribs, a bruised lung and a bruise on the brain.
2 rods and 8 screws in my back for the next 6-9m. I can walk but only a few meters before I have to sit down, lots of physio and rehabilitation to come.
In a lot of pain and discomfort but extremely lucky to come out of this without paralysis and only a tiny graze on my hip due to wearing full gear.
Unfortunately, that is it for me and riding, I have put my family through hell in the last week and it would be selfish of me to continue riding. Besides, next time the Dr's say I will not be so lucky...
Thanks again.
Ryan

So very pleased you are able to let us know how you are Rhino. It will be a slow recovery so you need to be patient with the rehab, as an OT I have and understanding of what lies ahead. I you need any advice please just ask :)
