TRE Removal
#1
I have been doing some touring on the Busa over the last couple of monthes and have been getting great economy from the big girl, around 20.5 km/litre, just cruising thru our backroads at about 110-120kms.....Last week I removed th TRE as i was getting jerkiness down low in the rev range so thought that may help....Some of the jerkiness has gone but fuel economy is now down to 16-17 km/litre. First tank full I though Id stuffed up so have run 2 more tanks full thru her and I really struggle to get economy over 17....So last night I plugged the TRE back in and took the missus out for a cruise and well bugger me, economy back up to over 20 km/litre again....Blew me away. I.d never have thought the fuel mapping was leaner in 5th than 6th but who knows what Suzuki engineers think.....,...ConfusedConfusedConfused

Because you changing timing and in effect fueling by removing and replacing the TRE then no surprise that mpg could be effected. The hunting you speak of is usually when the bike at light throttle is running on the edge of the transition period between IAP and TPS settings. Have it mapped and set up as the fuel saving along with the smooth power delivery and sweetness of ride is well worth it Pi_thumbsup

I have found the same thing, more or less constant legal highway speeds I am going through more fuel after remap. I thought it may be disconnection of 02 sensor with remap but looks like it may be timing differences at light throttle. I much prefer remaps throttle response over fuel economy. Can't have everything I guess.
