BMW S1000 RR

Just throwing this out there.
But does it hurt people to see the BMW S1000RR easily outrunning the hayabusa. There are lots of videos of this bike on you tube, easily outrunning the old girl. Upsets me.

The BMW S1000RR has top speed of 191mph (limited) and i have read with a good rider and stock swing arm is capable of low 9 second passes @ 150mph

One of them would be fun, but would be better supercharged with a stroker crank in itCoolsmiley

Doesn't bother me at all. I'd like to see anyone do a 500km run on an S1000RR, without getting a sore back/neck/wrists.

care factor MEH !!! Like all germanic machinery it has no soul or character. Porsche are a masterpiece of engineering but an emotionally sterile machine, as are BMW cars and Mercede's. The Busa set the standard that the others are still trying to meet. It's not all about how fast. Least not for me

I don't know, Pommie. - BMW's HP-2 Sport has plenty of character, although I do agree with the general gist of what you're saying.
Mostly, I think BMW just make weird-looking bikes. Reliable, though.

what i see is they are two different bikes the busa is a BUSA and the bmw is a superbike to compare you need to compare the new 209hp zx10 to the bmeer and it wont be long before the gsxr1000 will be up there for me i dont care who make a bike faster i love my busa all the others are only now catching up. take the limiter off the busa and get a real long straight and what will the busa tap out at.
SPEED ISN,T EVERYTHING BUT IT SURE IS FUN.

1/4 mile is not quicker than the 2nd gen. busa... mostly has been the other way aroundLol3

I wouldn't be worried about the 100,000 k mark .................. from whats occured I'd be more concerned about the 10,000 Coolsmiley
As far as quick ..................... don't think there is much on the market over 750 cc that doesn't exceed the mere mortals ability.

I was just looking at all the recent posts in the 'Who's quicker on a stock GenII" thread and the figures in there just about verify that.

One comment was that one of the passes on the GenII Busa is the current world record for a stock motor.
