New ACT Busa owner

Wink
Hi All,

I joined the site a few weeks back but wanted to introduce myself once I had my Busa. I just took delivery and managed a few rides locally, man did I miss my Busa.
I'm an ex-South African biker, rode a Busa there too (amongst others) and I'm now enjoying the wide roads in the ACT.

Attached are some pics of me with my previous bikes and now, the K8 Busa.
Great site you have here

Welcome to the club mate....could you be the first Springbok of the AHC? Nice bikes by the way. Pi_thumbsup
How's Canberra compared to Seth Efrika (imagine the accent...I think if you say it how I've spelled it, it sounds close)...and yes....I am a dickhead!!! Coolsmiley

Hi Guys

Firstly, a big thanks for the welcome, much appreciated.
Kev, it would be great to join the coffee nites and meet up with fellow biker mates.

Hey CeeJay, you just put a smile on my face when I read the line you spelt out, it just sounds so South African...reminds me of that ol Lethal Weapon movie. I initially moved from Pretoria/Johannesburg to Melbourne and have always been used to the big cities. I decided on a change as I wanted a mix between country life and city life...Canberra somehow has it both.
.....I just have to get used to the slow speed limits in AUS...did I say have to, I'm already used to it ! The good part is that while driving the speed limit (like driving MS daisy), I can look around for directions and not make the others seem like I'm out of towner...cos everyones doing the same speed.

A lovely country you have here mates !

G'day mate!

Lovely to have you on board! We meet up with the Canberra Riders on Mondays at El Cibo in Fyshwick from about 5.30. There should be at least four busa there this monday! I've just spent all day on the busa, it was a spectacular day in Canberra. I did 80kms/hr on the freeway with half a dozen L platers and then $2+ on the way home. Then I went and played on Mt Ainsle and learned a new trick.

Today was a GOOD DAY to be in Canberra!

Hi All.

I'll most definitely get in touch with the local members.

Thanks for the heads-up Heidi, I'll try make this Monday for the meet.
It's just too early for me to go home and pick up the bike as I work in the City but stay up far North. I guess the members wouldn't mind me rocking up there on 4 wheels ?
Weekend is cool for team rides/meets.
...hmmm, indeed it was a nice day in Canberra, need to find those $2+ roads

Now it is getting cold, quite a few people are turning up on four wheels, so that won't be a problem. I commute every day, so I'm usually on the bike and Max is riding his for the first time since his operation. We'd love to meet you even if you are in a cage. You do know that at some point you will have to produce it......... They are a lovely group at Canberra Riders, I've just spent all day with mobs of them. You'll find all sorts of people to ride with. AND US!

Hi Heidi,
That is great to hear, I'll be there on Monday then.
You guys must be used to the winter here, it will be my first. I need to do some winter shopping for
bike kit soon...some nice brands available locally.
Oh, I'll definitely produce that busanator, I don't like keeping it parked in the garage.
