Question on pillion footpegs
#1
Now that I have cleared my rear end, I want to finish it off by taking off the pillion footpegs. With my limited knowledge (refer to fender eliminator) I take out the allen keys, find the right size. Try as I might, the screws wont budge. So my question is, Am I using the right tool? I have posted a pic of the bolts that have to come off. Any suggestions?

I am turning it anti clockwise, I believe that is the right way? (Ok, I can hear you all laughing from here, but I am trying !!)

Anticlockwise sounds/looks right Pinkie.

Make sure the allen key is exactly the right size or you may wear the hole and have to drill the bolt out!

If it's not moving, use a small pipe of some sort over the end of the allen key for leverage... does that make sense?

...leave it if you can, but if you can't sleep because you HAVE TO do it, you're lying in bed thinking about it and how nice it would be to ride tomorrow without those two big horn-like pegs sticking out...

...try it again with a longer pipe holding it right on the end(works the same as a strapping big man), lean back and cover your eyes in case the allen key snaps... eventually it has to move though...

I have faith in you Pink-meister. YOU CAN DO IT!

Pinky,

Sometimes the tech who fits parts on the bus uses a rattle gun. It took me ages to undo the screws on the top of the tail section when I was fitting my undertail. If you are out and about, call in to your local friendly bike shop and ask if they would have a go at them with their rattle gun.

Maggot, not the mental image I like to go to sleep with!!!!!!!!

Cheers,
