Indicators as running lights
#1
In the spirit of getting more visible (and looking cooler in the process) on the road, I'm thinking of modifying my indicators to double as running lights.

Does anyone know of kits specific to doing this on the Busa? Any good or bad experiences with similar projects?

Is that even legal?

Probably not, but I just feel like I have to do what's necessary to stay visible to all those damn murderers in SUVs out to squish us...

Unless the penalty/fine would be too harsh, and it wouldn't be too hard to fix, I would probably be willing to take the chance. Anyone know what the actual penalty would be? Or maybe alternative ways of achieving the same?

(just stirring up some other contributers...)

Can't help with the penalties - wouldn't be much, you would think. Just unroadworthy, not like you are avoiding cameras or anything...

It is NOT illegal in NSW.

A few of my friends had a plug in added to their bikes and I personally think it looks shitty.

They like it though but they don't have to ride in front or behind themselves.

The blinkers are always on unless they indicate and then they go off and back on again, sort of in reverse of normal blinkers.
You are forever thinking the blokes are turning a corner and their blinkers are not working.

I don't recommend it but this plug in converter is available.

Hm... I wouldn't do it unless I could find a kit that allows me to use clear lenses and 2 bulbs in each. Ie. the clear bulbs would be on unless you're turning, and when you turn the orange (or whatever) colored bulb would flash.

Don't know if that makes it any better, or just more confusing to explain... It's starting to sound a bit like a xmas tree

Why not hang the expense and just get a bank of neons running the full length under your bike.

Oh ... and dont forget the fog machine for that ruding on a cloud "Monkey Magic" effect

if you want to run your indicators with your lights you can just wire in some rectifier direction diodes use a 3 amp you will need two run two wires from your head light to each side of indicator with diode inline . cost 2 X diodes Dick Smith or Jaycar about 60cents then you can have a look for your self if it looks shit wich probely would just disconect wires i would just for good measure put a 15 amp fuse in each line as well THE WARRIOR

There is a brake light that flashes 3 times before coming on .I think you might confuse those strange people in cars if you had runing lights especialy if you us your blinkers .
that will keep them of your tail
