#1
G'Day all,

I'm chasing a price and good retailer for a Yuasa YTZ-14S battery.

Local price (Darwin) is $279.76 and delivery is Friday week ie 10 days.

Any recommendations.....

Cheers in advance

Hi Bone,
Just saw one on ebay from the Batteryman in Sydney $97 + $15.80 postage and claim 3 to 8 days delivery time.
Or try ringing Century Batteries direct. They may give a better price than you currently have and ship to you also.

I just paid $159 for mine fitted, so that quote seems awfully high. Fireman seems to have the right idea.

I put one of these in my car 10 yrs ago & still going strong, has 1200 c ca compared to about 50 cold cranking hours of a std Ford/Holden battery. They do one that will fit in a busa & has far more c ca than a Yausa. The car one cost
$280 when a std battery was 80 buck's, so they are dearer.I think they have a
5 yr warranty but an average life of 8 yrs. can be mounted upside down if required. I'll be replacing my Yausa with one of these when due .I think the PC310 is the same dimensions as a busa one,but would need to check yourselves $167 inc free freight.

Cheers Bruce,

I tried to find "The Batteryman" in NSW and only came up with a place

that sells watch batteries in Kilsythe, so no good so far. It's a bloody

good price though.

Heidi and Bill,

Can I grab the Ph#'s where you got yours, both are over $100 cheaper

than the best I can get. Thanks.

Greeny,

I checked out the Odyssey PC310, it is the right size I reckon but

it's listed as 100 CCA (YTZ14-S = 230CCA) and the terminal placement

would be a bit of a hassle. Appreciate the info though.

I rang Century HQ in QLD and they quoted me the same price as here

in DRW $279.76.

I'll keep looking!

Graeme.

I was being quoted prices around the $270 mark as well. I paid it about 5 years ago and the battery lasted 3 years. Their are some who no longer think the 14S battery is a good idea, especially in younger Hayabusa bikes where the 'kickback' thing was sorted out (and is easy to avoid, anyway) - I have a 2000.

I've gone back to OEM and just sorted out my faulty charging system, along with reducing power requirements - HID headlamp (with on/off switch for starting the bike), LED tail light and LED indicators all round. It's just as good, if not better.

This may help. batteriesdirect.com.au do a Yuasa YTZ14-S For $242.10, but they also do a copy of the same for $135.90 inc freight (Super start brand),Which they say is as good, apparently not all Yuasa batterys are made in japan.

....just bought a "Motobatt" battery (same as the one Pashnit is selling over on .org). Gr8 battery, has 2 extra terminals to hook up extra stuff (gps, etc.). Total cost = $89.95. I don't know how you'd go getting it delivered to Darwin but??? David Fraser Motorcycles, Oak Flats, NSW.

I use an oddessy PC545 on my Outlaw busa, I not sure I would recomend them thou, I'd expect better performance for the price you pay for them.

I'll be giving the "Gen2" battery a go next time.
