I needed to buy a Label maker today.
Walked across the rd from my office to Dick Smith Electronics. The one that would suit was $48.65, which I thought was a bit much.
Walked 100m down the road to Office Works.
The EXACT same item, in the same packaging from the same supplier as DSE, was $16 CHEAPER than DSE.
So how do they justify this????
If the item was $200, I could understand it.
They are losing their customers, so they have exhorbitant prices to keep their margins up????

I understand that all profits that come from the Dick Smith range of foods go directly to charity. Dick Smith sold that company 20 years ago.
Don't blame him for the actions or nationality of the company now. He is one of the good guys in Australia.

I'm with Max on that one. Dick Smith has done some great things (like him or hate him). Where he stuffed up was leaving his name on a company that doesn't share his beliefs.
Ludicrous speed- go!

He also donated the South Care helicopter that actually rescued Ruffy when he had his Off on the Adaminabe road and cares for the whole geographical area. Certainly a Good Guy.

unfortunately we have prostituted our nations greatest assets for far to long and all the control we had has gone to the OS market.its a shame to read things like this with DSE , ARNOTS are gone OS and all the things we hold dear in this country have gone as well . BLUNDSTONE has moved from TAS to singapore. so whats next to go ??
