stuffed if i know, iv'e got a weird noise, it sounds like it's coming from the front end but you know how sound is decieving it almost sounds like something stuck in the tyre and hitting the gaurd or something in the centre hub like a stone rattling so i lifted the front wheel and span it around and checked it out - no stones not even a rubbing noise, next i checked the fan - nothing obstructing and it runs freely so i then tried the back end - runs freely and no unusuall noises it comes and goes this noise but mostly comes! the noise is definately not the motor - still sounds like the front end somewhere so if anyone has any other ideas i can check out because i'm pulling my hair out.

cheers,

You'll just need to practice riding on the back wheel only. Gives better mileage out of your front tyres too.

Seriously, I hope you get it sorted soon and it doesn't cost too much. The weather is too good lately to be limited to a car.
If it's too loud....You're too old!
If it's too fast....You're too old!
If it's too sexy....You're ???

Had mine replaced a when I got my last set of tyres - bike 10 years old.
Guys that put the tyres on called me over and said "Mate, your front wheels bearings are shot, want me to replace while I have the front wheel off."
It only took him a couple of minutes, and that included ducking next door to the bearing supply joint(very handy) and cost about $15bucks all up.
The beauty was that funny whirring noise that I'd been ignoring for the last few months was gone. Pi_freak

If your bikes gettin' upwards to 10 year old and you haven't done it. Probably gettin' near time. Coolsmiley

King take it for a run down the road and lay it side to side and see if that induces noise ? Quite often side forces show it up a lot more.
Go with Greeny .................. 10 years is a good run anyways.

King just rip the front wheel out and spin it up on your fingers .............. it will give you the answer without leaving the driveway. You will probably struggle to get any grease in past the axle seals ............... if you can then they are buggered. Knuppel2

King I'd pull the wheel .................. as has been said it certianly sounds like they are breaking up .................. always hard without hearing it ?
It's the old sounds like click click clunk rattle
Any signs of rust dust where the axle seal meets the axle ? A sure sign waters been in the bearing ?
