Back in the saddle
#1
Well, after a very embarrassing & confidence hurting DNF on the WA 10th anniversary run I am back in the saddle. Sadly my much loved Grey / Black K8 was deemed beyond economical repair. It was a not the way I wanted to finish 2009.

Now for the good news, I have started 2010 in one of the best ways possible. On Saturday I picked up my new K9....yes you guessed it - K9 WHITE......But don't worry I've checked this one out and asked it many questions and I am convinced that it is NOT GAY Lol3.

I was tempted to get the new 2010 Black, however the deal my wife organised on the K9 was too good to pass up. A big Pi_thumbsup to Daniel & Nigel at Savage Suzuki.

I was a bit nervous / anxious (call it what you will) as there is a bit of self doubt inside my helmet ATM, and it took a good 20Km before I could relax the grip of death on the bars. I took it nice and gentle back home via Mundaring Weir Rd and then took my wife for ride yesterday. All up only 200 Km's so far but I felt a lot more relaxed yesterday and really started to enjoy myself. The tyres are all scrubbed in and the Busa feels really good. I'd forgotten how awesome the induction noise was with the standard pipes - love it.

To get things back into perspective I'll book in for an Advanced road craft & / or track day.

Anyway here is pic leaving the store on my new pride & joy

CONGRATULATIONS!! WELL DONE! Take it easy for a while, it would be a worry if you didn't have the voice of reason in your head for a little while after an off. It makes you take stock.

WELL DONE!

Pete, please send me a PM for pricing etc. Ventura might want to re-think that "protector" bit though - it really didn't work that well for me last time. I hope the new one is better at it's job Lol3

Thanks to all above for your replies Pi_thumbsup. It's good to be back.

I had a AMHP headlight protector on my '03 when I launched it into a guard rail to avoid a kangaroo, and the bloody headlight protector was about the only part of the bike untouched!!! Definately getting one for the '07 that's coming this week!!!!

Thanks CJ. the Ventura product is good one aswell. My spill was head first into a small hollow off the side of the road. It had the full weight of the Busa & myself behind it on impact.

Thanks Skin & Duc13. I hope to catch up on a ride soon.

Valleterra, when's Mardi Gras? Lol2

I knew your were about to come out of the closet.

Hope to see you on the upcoming ride on the 24th.

Did you manage to keep your other pipes and bits & pieces?
