Damn Ventura rack! Ruffy and I pulled the bike apart last night to try and work out why she no go (fuel pump maybe?). ANYWAY, in all the excitement of pulling her apart, we took off the rack and it came away in several surprising pieces. While the temptation was to blame Antony Tan (the flatmate), it is more likely to be the Tathra ride.
Back for another couple of welds I guess. These really are shit, I had bugger all gear in it AND it was sitting on the pillion seat.

Peregrine Falcon - Capable of slicing winds at over 300km/h
Hayabusa - Capable of carrying my arse to over 300km/h
Steady on the lot of you, you KNOW you can't afford me. I just wanted to make sure you read the post. I'm not saying you are predictable......
Dean has just sent me a PM, and has GIVEN me the rack that is in his garage. What I guy. I kept offering money, he kept saying no. I don't think he fully understands the concept of bargaining.
Thanks Dean, you are a champ.
HEIDI xxx
I pointed this out to Bruce before on this Forum. I had original K8 rack break in exactly same place on 1 side. Send email with macro (close up) pictures of break to Ventura in NZ and CC to Dold Industries their Australian distributor like I did & they will freight and replace for free & freight to her local Ventura dealer free of charge with the new improved beefier version. So---stop ya bitchin as Ventura stand by their products.

Dearest Heidi,
Sincerest apologies. Sorry, didn't think you'd made the post yourself---after all, a female would not generally refer to her own breasts as a "Rack".
My mistake, as you can see by the edited attachments, the Aussie distributors are Kenma, I originally sent to Ventura in NZ complete with "macro" photographs & CC'd to Kenma. With any luck, soon, as is common practice these days, you'll have a new "Rack". I for one am now very happy with my new "Rack". Hope this helps you in your time of need.
Best regards
GRUNTMAX
PS: "Bitchin" is not a sexist word but merely refers to "Complaining"

I'm sure he'll harden up!!!! over time!!!lol
Heidi, I knew what u meant I think!!!
Ventura racks, imo are shit, whether they back there product or not, we live in Aust' a country full of shit roads and long distances and we carry lot's of gear....Fact! Not faaarrrrkkin America where roads are billiard tables & most pricks stay in a motel, or NZ where there is no distance to speak of....Fact! I have never had a Gearsack rack fail on me. The design of a Ventura rack is fair to good, the idea is excellent, their bags are excellent, the materials used in the making of the rack are shit!...Fact!. I know they are bound by rules, loads, the fear of litigation etc, but surely they can use decent wall thickness in their metal or go to a square design for strength. The Kiwi's must be thinking of the sheep in the paddock next door to their factory or getting them made in China.
Cheers,
