what id like to know is mr amcmo becomes a new member,no introduction as to who he is,what he rides,WHO he rides with or knows thats on this forum and its perfectly ok for him to go straight into vendor mode, flogging his wears.its an obvious tip off about easyrider imports selling zerogravity screens.Well, zerogravity came to US and enquired about selling their screens as the Australian distributor. If the previous distributor had issues with zero gravity,it had nothing to do with us,we never chased the product.I believe everyone can have their little patch and be left alone, sometimes companies swap patches. Its happened to us,and it happens to others. What i,d like to know is where are the usual complaints that are normally made by members about new members joining up just to flog stuff????Make this the first one, last time i checked the guy that runs amc rides a triumph,i should know i bought a custom sargeant seat and zerogravity screen off them when they were in castle hill.
it happens alot on there types of fourms mate i have run a small add on here but i offer all members a discout at no i know others that advertise on here offer some discounts as to being club members.i see where your comeing from glen to behonest i really didnt even notice him on here till you made a mention of it.i do advertise onanother fourm and it costs me $$$$$$ to have an add there fourm and at the same time i offer 15 % discount to those members of that fourm maybe this is something moderators could have a think about ?? what do you think glen??
im just spit balling here you know this is only my opinion and i will pre apoligise if any 1 has take offence to what i have said

Worth having a look at it. Well picked up Glenn. Whether he rides a Busa or not is not my concern. Glenn had a VFR when he joined... I had a VT500...
Nothing personal against amco, but there have been many heated discussions from members when this sort of things happens and usually ads are deleted...
If you ride a busa and you are a retailer or importer of motorbike related items of interest to our members we have always welcomed those retailers/importers to advertise FREE of charge but in our VENDORS section alone and not touting for business anywhere else in other threads. Coz thats what the Vendors section is for.
Now if you dont ride a busa but a postie or whatever bike or dont ride at all, but you have a business in motorbike items of interest to our members they are still welcome to advertise FREE of charge in our Vendors section. In other words you dont have to be riding a busa or anything else for that matter. Why? coz the items available to our members is what is of interest not the person selling it.
If however you have someone who spams mobile phones or whatever item not related to the motorbike industry and posts, his post is deleted and the poster banned. We dont tolerate spammers. If however you are a member of standing and run a business of sorts that member may post his link in LINKS Section offering his services but not if that was the sole reason he joined up on the forum, if so he would be viewed as a spammer.
Now onto that particular poster from AMC. You may take umbarage at competition nevertheless competition is encouraged only to benefit the end user. AMC has supplied us in the past with a group buy on Scorpio Alarms, they have taken orders for GI Pro units from members and are basically an assett to our membership with additional discounts offereed to our forum members. And he and others like Powerbronze are welcomed to advertise their services or wares to our membership without having to have to ride a busa or any bike for that matter, as long as its in the Vendors section. To date I have not seen this privilidge being abused. If that causes friction due to competition well Im afraid thats called a free market economy and not state based communist monopolies.
I think I have been fair here and am only pointing out policy that we have adhered to for quite some many years. If you feel I have been wrong on this by all means point it out.

So if i have a busa radiator for sale and i join up to try and flog it i,m a spammer(spaman the spammer, lol) but if metropolitan spares does the same thing its ok?? what if i put myself down as spaman pty ltd, does that make it ok?I thought the done thing was for a company OR individual to at least introduce themselves, say who they are,why they joined, what they sell, what their offering etc.To me it was a kneejerk membership application and not one of genuine long term intent regardless of their long standing as an importer of motorcycle parts. And yes you dont have to ride or own a busa as i had my vfr for the first few years as a member of this forum, the busa grunt had a hold of me.
Volvi I hate to admit it but I agree with Glen. He has a vested interest in this but has a good point. Is it possible to insist vendors at least participate in the forum before peddling their wares, say a minimum 10 posts before you can advertise?
I normally flame anyone who shamelessly posts an advertisement but missed these guys, no offence to them intended as they might be great guys offering great deals but IMO they should introduce themselves and join into this community before promoting their stuff.
glenn, who says selling a bike related item is spamming? I thought I said the opposite. and yes there have been plenty instances where a one time poster may be looking to sell his busa or busa parts, thats tolerated coz its in the interest of our members, maybe someone wants it or looking for just such a bike a part.
Bruce. Vendors dont have to chit chat, thats why theyre vendors and can only post in that section for selling their wares, if they want to chit chat in general no one is stopping them, but that they HAVE TO? thats unreasonable. And if Glen has a vested interest does that mean its a closed shop? and competition to be turned away?
Why havent the above objected to powerbronze advertising? Coz they dont import or sell them? But if someones competing suddenly its "double standards"? just whos applying double standards?
Whilst I may sympathise with Glen re competition I cant be seen as 'protecting' his interests against another. The club/forum's interests lie in the interests of all its members not in protecting one particular vendor against another. And as I said a bike busa or not in NOT a requisite for advertising in the Vendors section nor is it general section for that matter. As in all competition its the price of theyre goods or their service that will determine where the buyer may go to, thats called competition, anyone here want to tell me to discriminate against competition?
With regards to the manufacturer and whom they supply to, is absolutely none of our business. There is obviously a situation with them but thats nothing to do with us, its for them to sort out but not by trying to bar or ban competition, that wont fly here.

I just checked both of the new vendors posts and all were limited to the vendors section apart from one from powderbronze who was offering advice and not peddling wares at all.
Point taken.
I was commenting against vendors that hawk their shit only in any thread. My intent was that vendors introduce themselves and join the group first but that is probably naive of me.
I am not against competition at all and in fact have been critical of the biased view of some vendors.
I certainly dont expect any competitive protection on any forum or the net in general for that matter.Thats up to an importer to choose the right companies that have an appropriate structure in place so the seller in Australia has a realistic chance of selling the goods at a worthwhile price.I just saw it for what i was, beyond a shop front, wheres the get to know me,i like your forum , Australias the best country in the world etc. .
I think that if anyone has something worthy, and hayabusa related, to sell, there should be no reason why they can't use the forum. Good luck to you Glenn.

The market still works Spermbank! I got a price for a Zero gravity from the other bloke, then rang your dad and got his price - which won hands down. I have bought a shitload of stuff from your Dad because he charges reasonable and competitively. As I say, the market works.
