TRE...or SMART TRE

Can anyone offer feedback/ advice on TRE's or Smart TRE's. What's the difference and what brands are recommended?

Summary,

Some Gen 1s "stumble" when idling with the standard TRE. The smart TRE is meant to stop this.

I had a std TRE and did not have any problem.

This is all new to me...what do you mean by reflash?...how is this done, by who, and how much, and what do you get out of it?
