Decided to go the the doc at about 4pm.Pi_freak
Doc sent me straight to the hospital.Scary
Was in surgery by 6.15pm.
All finished & in the ward at 8.30pm (when I woke up) minus my appendix.
Left the hospital at 10am today (Saturday) feeling as if nothing had happened.Trophy
Straight from the hospital went dress shopping with Pam so that she could buy something to wear to the Charity Ball that we're going to tonight in the Hilton.

I thought surgery was supposed to have pain along with it.Coolsmiley

You are one very lucky man!!!

If you hadn't gone to doctor and if he hadn't sent you to the hospital, instead of telling you to take 2 panadol and see him in the morning, you could have been a very sick person.

It is amazing the things they do for surgery now days.

Enjoy the Charity Ball.

Are you on painkillers and antibiotics (I suspect you are), go easy on the booze and the limboing. You don't want to pop something.

Man i wish my appendix story was like that. After a couple of days in hospital the specialist was still undecided. Parents told them just to take it out. They got in and found it to be perforated and infected ie. full of holes and infected!! In hospital another couple of days. Went shopping with the old girl the day they took my stitches out. The scar blew up like a balloon. In the shower that night and the top 3 stitches bursts and a stream of puss and blood came pouring out( That night was the fastest the old boy had ever driven which was about 50km at approx 160km an hour). Back to hospital for another 2 weeks. Then at home for another couple of days before going back to school.
On the bright side i got out of a couple of weeks of school Yes

Hey

Glad to hear you were so lucky Louwai.

I have a story about an appendix too.....

I was about 12 when I started having pain in the stomach. This pain went on and off for about 2 weeks before my mum took me to the doctor. The doctor examined me and my sister, who had accompanied us to the doctors, started to yell in pain.

To cut a long story short, my sister had to have her appendix removed and, to this day, I still have mine.....I am a twin.

Man it sure is....... 3 little cuts about 15mm long.
1 in my navel, 1 over to the left at waist level & 1 about 100mm below my navel.

I must say that I'm feeling it a little today.
2 of the cuts are totally pain free, as well as there being no internal pain at all.
A lot of bruising has come out around the cut in my navel & that surface area is quite painfull.
The only real discomfort I have had is twisting & bending to sit in the car. Other than that, it's been good.

Went to the charity ball last night at the Hilton in Brissy. Was a great night. Ended up sitting next to the guy who owns the scrap metal / wrecking yard down Queens Rd at Kingston.
Was a fantastic night.

Haven't had any at all Heidi. Sat morning before I was released from hospital the nurses kept asking me if I wanted pain killers & they looked quite amazed each time when I said "No!!"
I really didn't need any. I had no pain at all.

As I said in the last post, I have a little pain now, but it's only surface pain from bruising around one of the cuts.

Friday night when they took me in, the surgeon came & had a chat & explained the procedure. Even then he said "we'll have you home tomorrow".. I told the the doc that I was supposed to be going to the Ball the following eveniong & he said "no worries, just don't dance too much"...
I was expecting more discomfort & I certainly didn't expect to be able to go the the Ball last night. But all was good.

Awesome night....
It was a fund raising charity ball for Breast Cancer.
