Does anyone have a genuine Suzuki Double Bubble screen fitted to their K8/K9? I was just wondering if they were any good. I get slammed by the wind at about the 160km/hr mark onwards and was wondering if these genuine items help with that (I'm about 5' 11" and don't have any major dramas reading the guages - just the wind is a problem). And were they easy to fit? Are they as clear/dark as the original screen?
Any thoughts and comments would be appreciated. I'd like to stick with genuine Suxuki parts where ever possible.
Thanks
Michael

I have one and it is terrific.
I am only 5' 8" but it suits me perfectly and i know what you mean about the stock screen.
It is slightly darker tint level than the stock one.
Very easy fit if you have done one before but not hard anyway.
Getting in behind the higher screen is much easier and it looks good as well.

Thanks for your replies guys. I ordered one last week - should be here any day now.
Any tips on installing it? I can see there is an Allan Key screw on both the left and right sides of the screen/cowling. Do you need to remove the little plastic plug on the inside of cowling under those screws? If so, what is the safest way?
Thanks
Michael

Yes you do, they are a standard Suzuki pin plug fastener.
You push in the centre and they pop out. Then you remove the plug.
Refixing them is simply a matter of lining up the hole properly and pushing the whole plug back in.
Behind the screws on the outside of the fairing is a rubber grommet that the screw goes through.
You will work it out once you start.

Hi Michael,
I had mine on my K8 now for some time, and I did try the genuine Suzuki screen for a while trying to find which was better for me. I was in a truck smash and have 5 collapsed vertebras in my neck and found the genuine screen did not help my neck at all. So I went back to the genuine D/Bubble screen and don't suffer any problems at all that I did with the normal screen that comes with the HayaBusa K8.
Cheers
John
Thanks John
i tried an after market screen (eagle) and in the mean time i had bought a suzuki screen.unfortunalty it was the same height as the after market one.
being tall myself and terrible buffeting , i invested in a zero gravity tall screen..its absolutly awesome, plus a new helmet has made riding a pleasure instead a pain in the neck.and it looks great
btw installing the screens arre a lil fiddly.the pop in rubber is hard to manipulate and i broke several nails doing it.so i gave up and asked hubby please helpppppppp..got to love being helpless heheeheh
Not essential to remove the plastic lugs inside the faring but it may make it a little easier to see the slots the sceen feeds into putting the screen in the first time.
The rubber mounts under the alan head bolts are a bugger to get out and do take some effort. Putting them back in is done easiest by leaving the screw in the gromet but only just loosley wound on to the inbuilt nut, push the gromet in by pressing on the screw head, then tighten into place.
i wished i knew that before i swore alot..
excellent gcbusa.i will remeber that next time i,m playing around that front end of things

I finally got around to fitting the new genuine Suzuki Double Bubble today. It looks great - better than the Zero Gravity, but that is a matter of opinion of course.
As for the installation, boy were those black rubber grommets fun to get out. But the tip from GCBusa about putting the screw back in the grommet before reinstalling was definately a good one. As was Busgo's advice about getting the Pin Plug Fastener out - that one would have had me stumped for ages.
I am yet to test the new screen out "at speed", so I will get back to you all on that one. I will also post pics of my new beast (with the satin Microns) when I get around to cleaning her up (as well as my beloved Katana - I'll take a couple of snaps of my babies together to share with you all).
Thanks for the help guys and gals,
Michael

I'm sure that you'll be happy with it, however, I gave you a false lead. I'm only 5' 7"...
That extra inch has turned into flab around the belly.

No worries Busgo. As long as you aren't trying to tell us that other inch has gone somewhere else down south.
