GI PRO -- well what did i say a week ago ??
#1
well after waiting almost 4 weeks for my GI Pro to arrive - it finally turns up on friday ..... friday afternoon - i install - set to the setting suggested in the install manual ..... go for a test drive ... all works well -- correctly identifies all gears correctly .... gets rid of the dead spot in the lower 4 gears.

Mate of mine is moving down to bega , so suggested we go for a ride ( he rides a Daytona ) off to the national park we go .... On the way down .... in 6th gear cruising at about 4RPM -- i back off -- then apply throttle --- massive lag(like i just ran out of petrol) - knock back to fifth -- ok again .. Strange i think - then i continue on

20 min later -- same again ..... hmmmmm

Then through the national park - i sometimes can not get my revs past 6 k as it feels like a Governor kicking in and making it valve bounce ( noise and feeling)

gets worse and worse ---- - i turn it OFF -- and guess what -- bike runs like it did before the GI Pro -

am i just cursed ?? in the past month i have had an anti dog collar turn up DOA - 2 times - car phone charger purchased from dick smiths DOA - and the next 4 tested after that. New bike gloves lasted 15 min before straps ripped off . New front tire had to be balanced 3 times( over a 3 week period) before bike shop admitted it was a dodgy tire and fitted a new one ( they tried to tell me it was bad wheel bearings and all other kinds of crap) .... and that's just the one i remember for this month -- last month was almost as bad ...

your thoughts ??? something i could have done ??? the gear indicator never flickered and always showed correct gear ..

Mate, the guy at gipro in hungary is great to deal with direct. I thought
i had a problem with mine & they swapped it over & paid all freight.Mine
turned out to be the old gear position switch problem which has been
well discussed in previous posts. I fitted a new one of these & it fixed
my problem, although it was a different one from yours.someone on the
forum will know.

Just took the bike for a run -- was great for about 20 min - could get it to rev to 10k easy

on the homeward stretch - about 2 min from home --- PLAYS UP BIG TIME - almost like i have lost 1 - 2 cylinders --- turn the gi pro off

Bam -- back to running as it was before ......

yet another thing i have purchased this month that is not working .....

didnt really explain much... or give me the answer i was looking for.

on your bike(when youre in first gear, and youre about to move)when you let the clutch out a little do your revs go up???
mine use to do that when i first installed the GIpro, now it doesnt.
just want to know if my unit is playing up, or if it wasnt suppose to do that in the first place.

theres quite a few posts on the GiPro from past years, worth reading them all up. I to had a problem but then it was the gear positions sensor in the clutch box that had to be replaced as it was modified. since replacing the gps my GiPro hasnt missed a beat. The guy from Hungary is Norbert he is always most helpful.

With the luck you're having at the moment, I'd give it while before you try sky diving. . . or walking out the front door. DAMB!

Hutch, the gipro never effected the way my bike ran, it just wouldn't show the correct gear. As Volvi said, the gear position sensor is a different animal which is already on the bike behind the clutch assembly. It was this causing my problems, but it may be related to you're problem.I Don't Know.
