I love my new Busa
#1
I have been a visitor for a little while now, but I finally got the nod from the Minister of Finances to buy myself a new bike. It took all of about 3 seconds from the time she nodded her head until the time a new bike was sitting in my shed next to my trusty old Katana (although, much to her disgust, the new bike was a Busa and not the Ducati Sport Classic 1000 that she wanted me to get).

All I can say is "Holy Cow, what a machine!!!!". I picked up my shiny new Black K9 with a set of Satin Micron slip-ons on Saturday morning and haven't stopped looking at it or riding it ever since. I love the black colour with a metallic blue fleck, I love the way the big Busa stickers change colour in the light, I love the way it turns heads when you are riding it, I absolutely love the effortless power and I love the feature of being able to set the RPM light - I have it set at 5000RPM so that I don't exceed the 5500RPM limit until she has done around the 860km mark. If I didn't have this light set, the Busa would be doing well over the 5500 limit all too often.

There is something I don't like though - it doesn't seem to like keeping within the speed limit. When I'm in a 60 zone, it always seems to be sitting on over 100, and when I'm in a 100 zone, the speedo seems to say I am doing way more than that - this thing is an absolute weapon and is pretty hard to keep within the limits. Oh well, hopefully the remaining points that I have left on my licence will allow me to enjoy this beast of a bike for a while longer.

I'll post some pics when I get time.

See ya, Michael

Good choice...same as mine Very Happy

I picked mine up about 6 or 7 weeks agp I guess, and found it exactly the same. The wife was a bit different, she didn't want me to get one because everywhere I went someone told a story how someone had been killed on a busa...

Well spoken, basically took the words straight out of my mouth Pi_thumbsup

Keep treating it right Michael and you'll get a rediculous amount of ks out of that new busa.

Nice colour choice too mate. Best of the K9s I reckon.

Welcome

In the last few days I've had two strangers on bikes tell me I'm riding their next upgrade - and a guy in a Porsche GT3 wind his window down at the lights to tell me what a beautiful bike I have.
I still can't get used to how many looks it gets, and the fun factor doesn't seem to wear off.Pi_thumbsup

Wow, from the responses that I have got so far, I can only think of what a great bunch of guys (& gals) all of you fellow Busa owners are. I look forward to meeting you real soon.

It is great to see that something like the Busa can bring total strangers so close together. I experienced exactly the same thing when I got my first Katana several years ago. Now, if we could only get those Harley riders to get over their arrogance toward the non-Harley riders, especially toward nice people like us riding Jap bikes.......

People who discriminate other riders about what type of bike they ride, don't know what riding is all about. Nuff said...
