I would say pretty average mate roughly the same figures I had before I started modding I think I was around the 158 with just yoshi slip ons so yer I reckon thats on about average for the Busa some are higher some are lower Regards Bill

Tony, different Dyno's give different readings which has been the subject of many a discussion here.

Here's mine.
2004
Usual, Pair Valve, Airbox, K & N, re-mapped (32 bit) ignition, re-mapped fuel injection, Remus carbons (gutted) Mid pipe Mod(Gutted) Active TRE, Ram Air Mod (Sealed)

182.5 hp 100.5 ftlbs torque.
Measured with Laser on 'Test track' at 321 kph on rev limiter (Standard Gearing) in 6th gear

Bre

We must compare notes........

Didn't know you'd been out again on the test track? Looks like it was a clear day and you picked up a few klm/h.

Nevermind, the scale is different on Bre's Graph, it makes it's hp alot higher in the rpm range.

Bre's graph shows more hp because the torque is made higher up the rev range. The dyno just calculates the hp from the torque the bike produces. hp=trq*rpm/5252 Edited by: hayabusa at: 5/9/05 1:09 am

Whoa, that 182 sure is a happy dyno.

Anyway the hp number is not the result you're after , it's the gain.

I admit I don't know much about dyno charts, but wouldn't more HP imply you'll have more torque as well?

My graph has way less than 182HP, but torque looks the same, unless the "100" is a different scale measurement...

Yes, Gdyup on the flat or down a slight decline can't get any faster than the rev limiter will let me. No gearing change until the turbo when warranty expires next November. Then I'll have to re-cal the speedo healer.

Thanks for the feed-back guys.

2 more thoughts.....

* I suppose it proves that the new TRE is working then ?

* Another Guy on an early model Busa, but fitted with a power-commander and a full yoshi system only pulled 1 bhp more than me on top end (didnt get to see his "curve")

Should i be looking at a full system next with a power-commander and hope i get more than 1 bhp or more midrange or what do you recomend ?

Needs to be "street-able" for 400k Sunday rides.

Pipe ?
Filter ?
Air-Box mods ?
PAIR mod ?
Power-Commander ?
I have run NOS before, (60hp / wet / Bandit 12) but never a "dry"system ? (anyone tried "Dry")

Tony.

Mine started at 158 and after tuning ended up at 165. I would say that 160 is what you are going to see in the real world before you start opening your wallet, or buying Militech in 44 gallon drums!!

After that, you want more power it's going to be a bigger bore or boost. If you want 30sec of fun, then NOS it, but that fun isnt sustainable on a day ride.

Tony my suggestion to you is dont waste your money on a power commander expecting to get more Hp yes it gives you a bit more but you have to weigh it up over cost if I remember correctly the whole power commander issue cost me about $800 set up and tuned I did get a 3hp gain but what I really liked was the smooth throttle responce that it gave me and a complete system is going to set you back at least 2-3 k for another 3-5 hp gain so for around 2.5-4k you should have an increase of around 7-10 Hp hmmmm for a little more turbo the sucker and have at least another 100hp all the time so weigh it up and the final decision is all yours

Enjoy the never ending money pit you have purchased

I should change my signature to .... A Busa is like a pack of Pringles ... Once you start you cant stop... Regards Bill
