RocketRods Ashes
#1
Spoke to Sue yesterday, about spreading Rods ashes.
looks like it will be sometime in March 09 at this stage.
I wanted to put this post up to give his mates some idea of when it will happen.
I will be about 18 months since that nasty cancer took his life.
This place hasn't been the same since, I for one miss Mr Grumpy too much. Smitten

Before Rod passed away, he said I want it to be a nice sunny day!
Gather all his Buddies from the Busa Club, like Dj Pete, Giddyup, Rev, Richard and rest know who you are. Grouphug

Then he wants us to ride up to the Reefton Spur where he loved to ride his Bikes, then every one take some of his ashes and spread them along the Spur.
Then a part of him will always be a part of the Reefton Spur. Very Happy

Love to come down for that Tezza.

Will be down for the Supers, 1st weekend in March. Any chances of making it then please?

No problems if that's too early for you, will understand.

This is a great idea and will remind me of Rocket every time I pass by.

Sue was saying Rods family don't want to have it to close to his birthday on the 27th Feb.
It would be fantastic if it's on when your down for the supers, will mention it to Sue though.
It was great to see you and wearlj there for his send off and it would special if you were there for his ashes.Grouphug

I still think of Rod every time I head out around Marysville. The amount of times Rev and I bumped into him without planning to was amazing! Certainly the best spot to scatter his ashes... Keep in touch Teresa.

Above: A stinking hot day at the Reefton Pub. (Note what Rocket was drinking. Not Beer???)

Above: Love this one. Rocket realizes he left his helmet on his bike during a Marysville downpour! It was hard to take the pic I was laughing that much!

Above: Another favorite pic. Rocket took this one when we were heading out of Marysville one day.

Nothing but fond memories for me. R.I.P. Rocketman.

Thanks mate, he was one of the good guys.

Has anyone had contact with Wearlj in the last year? He may want to be part of this.

Top shots Phil

The old Rocketwoman..............yeah, I'll be there.......

Still remember hooting through Panorama with Rocket on my tail when the 4 wd pulled out......lucky we did the brake mods.....Coffee
We loved talking about the "good old days" on the Kawaswaki GPz 750 turbos & other assorted weapons ...........& many other great topics of a 2 wheeled nature...

Pissed myself the time he blamed the fuggen busa for losing his brief & bought the VFR .reckoned it was the bikes fault Lol3 Still laughing...

Still, he lived close to & knew that Reefton like the back of his hand so I had no probs trusting him to show me the lines (quickly)..

Should be a great day..
Never ride the A model of anything.

I took this photo at Marysville bakery, been trying to work out who the person is sitting on Rods left.
I think that's Giddyup sitting next to Rod or it could be Dj or Rods mate Doug. Undecided
