Just found this site

Just found this great site and had to register. Only just bought my Hayabusa, and love riding it, love working on it, love reading about it, and I'm sure will be playing with it for some time to come.

I had a Katana when they were near new and loved that too. The Hayabusa reminds me a lot of it, except the Hayabusa handles and stops - the Katana didn't really.

Regards to everybody - hope to see some of you out on the road.

Thanks - it's a 2004 model (silver and blue). I tried to attach a photo but couldn't get the upload to work.

I fitted a dark double bubble screen so I could see the dash when sitting on it, and I am looking at a whole stack of other things like cleaning up the rear guard area, fitting clear front indicator lenses, crash knobs, stiffer springs, some way of fitting and powering my iPod, and maybe mapping out the timing retard in the first few gears.

G'day MonsterBusa and Welcome

Your last update is probably the easiest. Simply fit a TRE (Timing Retard Eliminator). You'll find lots of info about that on the forum.
I think Busa-Rod has a couple for sale at $50.00 each.
See his post in the "99 GPS root of the surging" discussion.

Hi MonsterBusa. Seems you and I have a similar history with bikes. Welcome aboard. You have probably found just the right mix of great information and light hearted BS. The sort of mix that makes the world go around.

Enjoy...........

Hi Champs. We will have a lot in common if you rode a Katana to uni to do an engineering degree and crashed it regularly.

I had a mate that was a panel beater and bought one of those magnetic paint thickness guages. He tried it on the Katana tank and couldn't detect any metal. There was too much bog!

Some people are like Slinkies ... not really good for anything, but you can't help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs.
