All of this software and the plans to make the interface are available to download free on the internet. I have made several posts on this forum before regarding this. I dare say you can make the interface for about half of what it would cost to buy from Schnitz. The other thing that they do not mention is that it has not been tested on Australian ECU's. The last I had heard it has only been tested on European and American units.

It is possible to extract the data from the Australian ECU to compare to other units but it involves cutting a notch out the ECU and tapping into the processor and then some unique computer hardware to extract the data. I was going to give it a crack but it got a bit too technical for me. Once you reflash the ECU there is no way to reverse it so you need the original data incase you need to revert back. I have bought the parts to reflash the ECU but have not put it together yet. It is basically an RS232 TTL converter.

I believe tuneboy will release one of their units for the Busa soon so no doubt they have extracted the data from the Australian ECU's.

I'm testing a tuneboy cable and programme at the moment, connected for the first time today.apart from a few connection glitches that will be ironed out it works fine, made all my tps maps the same as my turbo bike doesn't need different maps on different cyls, was able to programme the clutch rev limit low to act as a two step, left the rest std for now except 6th which is 10800 hard cut same as the rest.
I will fit my datalogger now and knock detector and work on cleaning up the off boost mapping, and see if i can improve the ign .
the ecu hacking editor is a little further developed at the moment and does things a bit differently , the cable and switch box is available here http://www.boostbysmith.com/ecu.html from Greg Smith who is supplying Schnitz.

Flashed my ECU today with the Petrik software. turned my air box flapper valve solenoid into a shift light.

Once you have the FDT software set up it is a cinch to do. Looking forward to riding the bike and getting some data to tune up the turbo.

It does work on an Australian ECU but do it at your own risk.

Why buy a Bazzaz unit when you can make an interface for about $100 and flash your existing ECU???

I tune my ECU for my turbo using timing, fuel, 2 step launch and shift kill. What else do you need for $100?
